This is a horned fox mask made mainly of my own ecological paper clay. The little horns are made of resin and apoxie sculpt. The eyes are glass, painted by me.
This mask was made on commission for Sunila Sen Gupta/Goupilch with inspiration from one of her characters:

Beautiful mask! I don't know much about sculpting, but it's so fun to watch. What's the purpose of dividing the mold in two?

Thanks! Since the material I put in the mold is paper clay which is hard when it dries, and the mold is also a hard material, I need to divide the mold in order to get the paper clay mask out of the mold or it would get stuck in there. :)

This is amazing. Can you tell me where I find the instructions to create a negative mold? It seems to be pretty difficult with lots of steps to do it.

Thank you! The mold is made of Jesmonite, can also use any other type of plaster/gypsum that works with waterbased clay.

This is such beautiful work! Did you use anything for mold release? Also, im very curious what your recipe for the paper pulp mache is! I can only hope you're still reaponding to comments, thanks!

Thank you! :) I believe I used vaseline or petroleum jelly. And the recipe can be found both at my website nymla.se/product-category/tutorials-diy/ and also my Patreon. Dear author, could you answer the question about the materials ? What material did you use to separate the parts of the mold from each other ( brown), and what material (white) did you use to fill in the rest (gypsum)? English is not my native language, I hope everything is written correctly))

Hello! The mold parts are separated with a water based clay, a pottery clay. And the mold itself is made from a material called Jesmonite. Hope that helps:)

@@oleni9898 If you use pottery clay, the wall should not dry when you are making the mold, if it dries it will crack. Although after it has served its purpose it doesnt matter so much if it dries and you can make it soft again with water.

You mean the bag? I was just covering it between sessions so the clay doesnt dry :)
