Great painting! As a fisherman I've been sketching and painting fish of my own. I thought they were pretty good, but this makes mine look like a crayon drawing. After watching this, I'm more motivated to paint my own! Thanks!

Stunning! I have raised aquarium fish since a young age (50's). I have taken art classes at the NYC Art's students league (alas I was more 3d sculpture ). But it showed me how much talent is needed to do this sort of rendition. Stunningly beautiful and the particular mark of making it more than an Audobon painting - the fish on a leash (like a dog collar) - whatever one reads that to mean. Brilliant work. Thanks for sharing your talent.

Marcel ... I have only just discovered your work, which I admire greatly on several levels. Your artistic talent is remarkable; beautiful craftmanship. The idea of staging your images on a "blank screen" is such a novel way of emphasising the subject. And, as a zoologist and filmmaker, equally I enjoy your use of art to express irony and offer environmental comment. There is so much commitment in what you do. Thank you for sharing it.

Hi Winnie, I use several kinds and brands of brushes. For the detail painting I prefer the pure red sable of Rembrandt. These brushes are round and have a extra fine point. The large brush that I use for the background have synthetic hair and is from the home brand of Hoopman-Amsterdam, a Dutch shop in art materials.
