That's what I like about KOL. You just don't know what they are going to pump out next. One moment you're euphoric over "Arizona" the next you find the new song "Reverend" irresistible. Just an incredible band.
You guys still and always will be the best. Your fans are those who know good music and love each and every album you make. Different is what you started with, so branching out should be your norm :-) And your fans will love it! So far, I love every single from this album!!
Could you record a version of Over where you change the lyrics "I see you're crazy and so am I" to "I see your crazy and raise you mine"? :) like in cards! Y'all continue to be amazing
I love jared ! Espero que le entiendas al español jajaja o minimo lo leeas , te amo y eres el mejkr bajista del mundo el mejor dia de mi vida fue verlos en el palnorte❤️
I love KOL, but I really don't like the fact that they are trying to write hits and stay super popular . Cut the crap and make a damn rock album, don't worry about making a really popular album. If you try to make a popular album you're not being true to yourself as an artist, you're just trying to make money.
Stone but I think the point is they aren't meaning to write hits it just comes natural I mean find me and reverend just came out it wasn't that they were trying to make hits they just played and ended up sounding big I think the album they chased the hit for was OBTN and come around sundown this album they just wrote what they felt and they they felt like they were going to be hits it's not that they wanted to write hits. Eyes on you sounds like they stay true to older rock and find me sounds like a rock song.
basically a video explaining why they sold out... i hope when their fame starts to fade theyll start making music again for the people that brought them where they are. i dont relate to theirs songs, nor do i appreciate them more than any other song on the radio. great move financially, no doubt about it... but i still feel somewhat betrayed
I really didn't enjoy watching this video. It's like a confirmation of their wishes to keep in the charts and not making songs with any kind of depth. Very sad how they've fallen.
Philippe Lemay you're talking about music.... Betraying you. Chill out dude. No one betrayed you and no one sold out. A bands music doesn't revolve around you.
They literally said in the video they want to keep on making hits... All about that money at the end of the day. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
KOL now remind me so much of the Arctic Monkeys. I live in Sheffield (AM hometown) and their first couple of albums were so relevant and very personal. After that they decided to go after a different audience, that would give them worldwide success that initial connection vanished.
all of you guys act like you wouldn't be doing the same thing. plus, they're saying they want their music to become more popular. who else wouldn't want that? give me break.
I doubt this band will ever see this comment. But I wish I could tell them how much their music speaks to me, it’s truly my therapy! I struggle with mental issues and you guys have a perfect song for whatever I need. If I wanna feel happy, I’ll listen to “Reverend”. If I’m down, I’ll listen to “Cold Desert” because it just reminds me I’m not alone in my depression. If I just wanna rock out in my car driving, I’ll play “Closer” as loud as possible. I’ll admit I was one of the people who only knew “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody” until recently. But now I couldn’t live without your music. I’m catching up with all your albums and I keep discovering new songs that I love!! I hope to see you live in concert soon!! Please come near NC please.. haha! But in all seriousness, y’all and your music is art and it speaks to people in a way that transcends music I think. Even the documentary about y’all was inspiring. Cause I’m Southern and from a tiny Bible Belt town too. I pray y’all play forever, y’all are Timeless 🖤KOL🖤
1:40 "You want to make a better record then the last one, and that's the way we've always been." I don't necessarily like each record in that order, but there is for sure certain aspects of each album that keep improving.
I'm back here re-watching making of's for Walls with the new album coming up! I've been listening to KOL since since I was 13 so it's coming up on 10 years now and I can confidently say they are and always will be the BEST current band out there! every album is an amazing album, there isn't a single song I don't like!
♪♫♪And I say...Fuck You, Kings of Leon will always be THE BEST!!!!!!!! I CANNOT wait to see you guys again. 2.14.14 at MSG was one of the best nights of my life, its the last time I remember being happy.
Sucks I was pulling for ya but WALLS was your worst selling album to date i think right? I think it was your best since only by the night too which is such a shame that it didnt do more. BUt remember, eventually every band loses that selling power. Shit even Paul McCartney and Elton John did eventually
I thought yall were supposed to release movie sometime soon? There is a video from Irvine in 2014 and Caleb said that they were making a movie and that they were filming a live show at Irvine. Is that still going to happen??
This is a message to Kings... I have been a music Hound all my life I'm going to be 64 years old on New Year's Eve but I look about 45 and I'm a ballet jazz dancer since just about diapers. I happened upon your music a couple of years ago and I have to say by far you are the best band I have heard in ages and ages and ages and you can imagine I have heard music from the 50s 60s on up and I prefer you over anything on RU-vid and Pandora! It amazes me that you come up with everything that you come up with everything is totally immaculate! I wish I had the money to follow you and sit in the front row!!!! I was a musician but I started having epilepsy here and there in 2012 and I only have a short a typical seizures now but I no longer can play a guitar but I do write songs and vocalize a lot and I love music so much because it is my life it is my muse dance almost 24/7. I would love to just see you guys Jam if anything! I would be so honored to see you someday live!
No musician but I'm pretty sure trying to force out hit after hit is not effective. All their chart topping attempts after Only By The Night have really been lacklustre. They could have been one of the key instruments in making rock music stay in popular culture but churning out the same old mediocre record (sorry if I've offended some people) proves rock is at the lowest of lows right now.
Cutzy I disagree with that their albums all are gold. And I don't know what's wrong with mechanical bull. Everybody says that was their worst but that's easily one of their best if not better than aha shake heartbreak. And walls is just amazing.
