Making Portraits for beginners 

I've taken Tony's course and I can learnt so much from and to the point where I'm producing portraits that I like. As in all art forms, you only get from it what you put in, and I draw using charcoal at least once per week and often do two or three portraits. Highly ecommended and no, I was not paid for this comment/review

thank you so much for this and your videos. i feel i have been so caught up in simply how to optimize getting better to where it has made me lost my way in having fun in my art. however, your perspective and demeanor has calmed me down. i feel comfortable yet again to go day by day and create again.

Hi Tony, I've just started drawing portraits with charcoal a couple of months ago and love watching your videos. Very inspirational to me.

I am truly starting at Zero. Just signed up for intro session --- looking forward to it. I love your work but there's something about your manner that makes me want to explore the possibility that I might see things more creatively and maybe even try portraits.

Tony I just wanted to thank you for your generosity in sharing this with us! I just signed up. I am a pretty good at drawing portraits seeing as I've left off doing art for months and years at a time. I'm ready to jump in and learn this more intuitive method which goes along with my personality better than these left brain approaches which stress me out.

Shapes in the distance between them, and the correct values… This simple and powerful approach, is the only thing that has worked for me in the 40+ years I’ve been drawing… I can now capture the essence and render the likeness of an individual without much difficulty. I apply this to all mediums. Mostly I use charcoal, pastel and watercolor. Thank you from the bottom of my soul Tony.❤️

Thank you for your hard work and the fact that you share your experience, knowledge. I would like to start drawing, sketching on iPad. Do you think it's a good idea for very begginers? Best wishes
