Talk about BLINDERS!!! The “Petro-economy?” There’s NO economy without petroleum and please don’t overlook that 99% of the items in the video would be nonexistent W/O petroleum…including the electricity to manufacture the plastics, run the equipment, record the video and power RU-vid

You could have covered that motor with a container of its size because of moisture and rust prevention 😎

Make the upper part where the blades attach a solid piece with a tube part on the bottom to go below the motor. That would not only protect the wiring but the motor too. Yes it would increase the rotational mass which would require a higher wind speed to start rotation but it also would smooth out the rotations in gusts.

It's only an experiment. I'm sure refinements would be incorporated in a fully operational example.

Nice. I had no idea one could deform PVC pipe with a heat gun like that. Definetly opens up lots of possibilities for any similar projects I pursue in the future. My only complaint is showing us a Voltage is rather meaningless; Without an idea of the current, we have no idea of the power it can generate. Thanks.

Hi, I'm afraid that your turbine is not powerful, as mentioned in the video description. Plus, best is to use 3 or 5 blades (wings) for better efficiency. I respect your work but please, would your like to keep it real? Like saying that it's a low power, not so durable and low efficiency wind turbine? Maybe you'd like to try the lift type of VAWT (Darieus) instead of this drag type (Savonious)? They are more efficient, again with 3 or 5 blades. Thank you for your work, keep it running and do your best by also keeping it real, ok? Cheers!

Oh yeah, those are cool to watch. The only sad part is that this kind of device even seems to work, is not very adapted to high-speed winds. More traditional wind turbines can change the angle of the blades of their propellers to offer less resistance to the wind when it's too strong. Still, your design is very interesting even if it's more of a fun experiment to do. Sorry that it will be damaged as soon it will encounter more powerful wind. 😞

These tiny projects look enticing and cute, but in reality they don't work well in different windy environments. Plus your wind motor generator isn't really big enough to do any real charging or electrical load on it. Sorry. But nice video production. At least it gives you principles in theory. 😊

That's a basic disadvantage of a VAWT. On the plus side there's no issue with rotating contacts.

The blades ideally are not even in number e.i. 3, 5 .....etc. even more, say 15. The more blades used the stronger power produced on the shaft.

All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity!* They have always had a short service life due to the very gusty winds near the ground and the enormous strain on mechanical parts! Small wind turbines are only worthwhile if you MUST be self-sufficient from the grid. But the amounts of electricity are minimal. *With solar panels, on the other hand, you can reliably generate electricity for a few cents/kWh (!) for approx. 25 years!*

con que de mas de 4voltios suficiente para convertirlo en recarga para baterias mas con el adaptador ese que usan para el solar, asi tambien se puede usar un dc-dc para aumentar los voltios para bombillas de 12v, mientras da como minimo 3v con eso basta para que el modulo dc-dc de sus voltages que uno le ponga 🙋🏽‍♂🙋🏽‍♂
