The only time I’ve seen the judge this mad was that one case where one set of parents was hiding an underage girl from her parents!

It's hard to find such a combination of stupidity, arrogance, selfishness, and contempt for the law that this defendant demonstrated. I don't know why the judge did not award punitive damages for her egregious behavior.

Technically, the Defendant could hold a personal, family wedding on her property--as can anyone in most areas. She couldn't, as a BUUSINESS hold a wedding. She was skirting the law and the Plaintiff could have had her wedding shut down any second. I agree she should be reimbursed for having a wedding somewhere else. Who wants to play Russian Roulette with their wedding?!?

The defendant laughed it off, and I wonder if she has even allowed herself to see the truth of the matter...or if she's just making excuses in her head and telling herself that she wasn't truly in the wrong. Did a little digging, and besides this case, forward in time thru the Covid Pandemic to the present, the owner of the wedding venue is still in trouble with the town of Groton Ct., her name is Natalie "Elizabeth" Huey Min Lee and the town is still after her for zone violations for her so-called wedding venue "Mount Crescent LLC" aka Mount Crescent House mansion.... Truly unbelievable trying to be above the law.

I loved seeing JM, who can be slightly combative, come up against a defendant who is slightly combative - each can't believe the outrageousness of the other!

it's not often you see the judge get that angry at a litigan't, but the defendant really deserved everything she got and more. I agree with her that they better report everything they can including the fact that she admitted an open court that she's had for events since this and if I could I'd report it.

(Just My Opinion) The defendant said it wasn't the "town's business" to know what she was doing, but it definitely is their business to make sure people are following the rules. I would've been so pissed if I had to come off another almost 4k at the last minute. I also understand her not wanted to sabotage their place to stay. If I have people flying thousands of miles to come to my wedding & they suddenly don't have accommodations, i would probably lose some relationships due to someone else.

The plaintiffs are extremely likable. Probably some of the most likeable I've seen on this show. The defendant made me cringe. She's the type of person that would smile to your face and then stab you in the back. Glad the judge told her off.

This happened to my daughter in Ontario. We paid $5k to rent a venue/house and the town advised no weddings could take place on their premise. She had to host a party like a family event and return the money to us.
