I gotta say, Im so glad you getting back to making music and sharing production tips... It feels like forever.... I know you were going hard on the gear stuff, but this is where you really shine.
This is fire mate. The horn stab fade idea is great, I'll be plating with that idea for sure. 404 is such a gem, the only thing I struggle with is the bpm detection and tempo assignment. Such a chore sampling a beat and having to work out the tempo for a pattern. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Peace ✌️
Agreed yeah I just tend to get the tempo from the chop pattern by using tap tempo then adjust the pattern once it’s recorded to get it sounding smooth. Appreciate the comment 👍
Let me know what you think ... well I think that this is the best Lofi creation of the SP MK2 I ever heard. This is what people want to know: Does the MK2 get you that juicy crunchy Lofi feeling with the emulations of SP 303 and other onboard effects. And it does. And it does it easy and fast. You should create a new title for your video. It should be "To whom in doubt of getting real Lofi out of the MK2". Make this video more prominent, because it is fabulous work. Besides: Your wooden knobs are away ... can I buy them from you 🙂?
This beat is FIRE!!!! Are you recording directly into Ableton Live with the SP404SX? How do you do that? Is there an audio preference for the SP404SX? You just inspired me to hook up my SP404Sx and cook up some beats. This is sooo good! Thanks SPVIDZ!
@@spvidz Thanks for the reply!! Even though the SP-404 SX doesn't have USB......how do you connect it to Ableton? Do you mean to say...through the audio interface and in preferences set up it up that way?
I think workflow vids like this are ace (and underrepresented on yt) because they answer a lot of questions that are difficult to ask. Also not talking and showing how and what you do with on screen text helps focussing. Would like to better see parameters you’re setting in some way (text on screen or a zoom of the display) cause ngl I was zooming like a mofo and people here were thinking I was looking at adult stuff. jk Would appreciate easier to see settings though. Was zooming to see your quantize setting and it was hardly readable… not that I want to copy settings, but it’s great to get a better understanding of whats happening and why it sound that way in that exact moment. Anyway: great and helpful video at least for me. Much appreciated! 😎🤙🤙
hey there, i got a quick question. Since i updated my 404 to the 3.00 version, whenever i turn it on, the 'EXT SOURCE' button lights up red for a milisecond before going into the 'normal' startup mode. Anyone else has this or know why it is? Thank you guys in advance! :)
