How I make highly authentic blank Enfield cartridges, for the serious reenactor and living historian. These will exceed the guidelines for even the strictest authentic campaigner events.
@@LoremIpsum1970 And therein lay the problem. Typical British Empire Idiocy. Offend both your Muslim and hindu Sepoys in one fell swoop. (I'm a Brit, I'm allowed to slag us off 🥸)
@@FelixstoweFoamForge I still think the Raj comes in dead last in the local idiocy championships, the people who literally worship cows are basically cheating.
@@FelixstoweFoamForge Tbh I've not really dug into the background on that. Though, I do find it unsurprising that similar 'rumours' are around today, I think I heard it used in reference to C19 vaxes as well as other things.
There was later a Fisher and Ludlow in Castle Bromwich which by the 1950's was making motor vehicles. Part of the company still exists in the Fisher and Ludlow Caravan Club which was originally part of the Social Club of the factory.
New subscriber, loving your content. Been a civil war buff since I was 9 and learned something new watching your channel. I had always thought all civil war rifles loaded the same way. In my mind the way you loaded the Enfield was how I thought they all worked. I didn’t know the VAST majority were not loaded with paper. I also love watching and talking to relic hunters. They talk about finding “dropped” bullets. I always assumed it was cartridges falling out of the cartridge pouch or the entire cartridge being dropped. But now watching your videos it is obvious that the nervous soldier literally dropped the bullet. Never knew they actually handled the loose bullet. So my question: when they did drop it, what did they do? They already had a power charge. Did they just fire a “blank”? Inquiring minds want to know.
I will be honest, your the reason I drink old fashions now XD. So glad Bulleit makes their own now! It is an essential item to have when supervising any work requiring orphans.
I definitely want to try this. Doing it myself sounds barbaric and Ungentlemanly. I am sure if I look hard enough, I can find some orphans. So there made properly the way God Intended.
An old movie trick is to use Floral Foam for compression. You just cookie cut it with a brass tube the right internal size. Rather use that than polystyrene. Great video Brett!
I used floral foam in the past and it does work great. But nobody sends me boxes full of floral foam for free! Meanwhile every Amazon box is flooded with the peanuts.
yes did the cartridge for my enfield rifle for re-enactments . always blanks never did live fire with the rifle at any events, but have at the range. nice demo!
Good Morning Sir, a very informative video. I am assuming that the powers to be of RU-vid prevents you from showing how to make a "live" cartridge. I am not a reenacter but I have made the U.S. style of paper cartridges. It would have been great to see one made however. But my experience has confirmed that showing the wrong things on RU-vid will indeed get a person censored. Best Regards. . . P.S. Try Eagle Rare 10 year old, By Buffalo Trace. Very nice on ice.
