The Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO), with support from the Korean government through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), took a significant step in addressing the specific needs of small babies through their Care for Small Babies (CSB) initiative.
The focus on CSB is crucial as it addresses the unique requirements of small babies, particularly premature or low birth weight infants, through measures such as temperature regulation, feeding support, infection prevention, and the implementation of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) practices.
