I put a 3.5" Rough Country lift on my 21' and ran a 35" tire with a 2" spacer. Unfortunately it needs more metal cut away down to where the bolts are on the seam at the bottom. I bent that tap back thinking I would cut it off but then realized there was metal behind the fender well cover and couldn't move the plastic back with a heat gun because of that. Good video, wish I would have went with a 34" tire and I'd probably been good.

Maybe take the spacers out brother. It’s all about the offset. I know it looks bad ass with a little stance though. Back in the day on my grand Cherokee I had to cut the punch weld back which gave me enough room to run oversized tires. I was thinking of running the same setup as you. I want 37’s with the least height needed lol. Especially with a 18 inch rim. I like that look.

Thanks for this video bro... I did the same thing as you only instead of cutting off the tab in the back of the wheel wells I just hammered it up to bend it back so I could reuse the clip to retain that little mud guard trim peice.. I think it looks way better with it on. For reference my truck has a 6" zone with 22x12s -44 and 35x12.50...zero rub now after doing both these mods... Passenger side didn't rub on the front at all

Great info brother. I’m debating if I want to go with a 6 or 8 inch lift. Since you have to cut mounts anyway for the lift. I wish I can run 18’s. I like the look of more tire less rim. I’m sure yours looks like a beast

Going to do the same this week. Still want a place to bolt on a set of mud flaps. So instead of cutting going to try and just hammer it in so I can still screw into the clip.

Are your tires nitto ridge grapplers? What's your opinion on your tires? Safe on wet highway? Safe when going 75mph?

In my honest opinion they are horrible. With a light dusting of snow I was all over the place. I bought a set of wild peaks at3w and they are great in rain, they have the three peak snow and ice rating. Also I highly recommended duratracs they were great on my jeep.

Just bought 35” tires for my Ram and upper control arm is rubbing ,, should I use a 1” spacer or 2” ,, I’ve heard the thicker the spacer the more stress on your suspension

Also the bigger the spacer the more it rub on the little mudguard

You’d need to lift it and add a spacer. I got a set of wheels with a -19 offset with stock size tires and I run on the plastic inner fender.

This tire is like 33x12? It was rubbing because of wheel spacers right? How is it on bumps when full turn?
@MrV2u
@MrV2u 2 года назад
It only rubbed because of the spacers. And it only rubbed when it was in reverse on the plastic mud flap shield. Other than that it doesn’t rub anymore. I took it off road and have full flex on bumps and when stuffing the tire up.

I also have a 2 inch level on it as well. I’m pretty sure I would of fit a 34x12 wide if not 35x12. There is plenty of room. Hope that helps Victoria.

Just installed 37" with a zone 6 inch lift today and mine seems to be rubbing in the same place forward or reverse.. I took those little flaps off and the Tab where the clip goes into is clearly the source of contact. Was that tab about an inch? I'm hoping that's all I'll need to clear these.. 35" were no issue.

Man bro let me know if you get a 37 to fit with no issues. What offset you running on the wheel? The tan was about 1 inch bro. You also have to account for the tire going up and down as in off road. It might hit with up travel. Let me know brother how it turns out for you though.

@@MrV2u .. 0 offset.. I like the clean look without sticking out too far.. looks like plenty of up travel but the damn tab appears to be the issue.. The tire place said they've been able to do wheel alignments and adjust either camber or caster to get the clearance in some circumstances. Wasn't sure which they said cause I kept thinking back to the pinch weld I cut out with my 2012 tacoma. I'll keep you posted my friend. Thanks for the video and help!
