This week's show brings you the finale of a 4 part series on making another Ship in a Bottle project. This one is a little different however, as I put two ships in the bottle and I use very different, experimental techniques for the water that they sail in. I hope you enjoy this 4 part series as much as I enjoyed producing it.

Winter is coming and I don’t like spending too much of it outside on PEI evenings. Great way to put my spare time to use. Retired, all my time is spare. Enjoyed this series. Thanks.

Kenny, once again you have shown the extent of your patience. What a fantastic build, two ships in one bottle. Just amazing. Thanks for extending it out to four videos because I truly enjoy the detail. Another awesome project.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the series Paul. They are time consuming projects to both make and film but they are well worth the effort. Thanks for tuning in sir.

You Sir, have the patience of a Saint!!!! I really like how the epoxy and clear silicone turned out, it is actually convincing that it is real water and a wake made by the ship. Excellent job

Glad that you like the project Randy. I'm not sure if I have patience or if I just really love what I do for a hobby. Maybe a little from column A and a little from column B. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Just Wow. You inspired me to give this a shot. I looked to see if I could find a shop in a bottle kit to purchase, but I didn’t find anything even remotely close to this result. Besides, this way is all from scratch and IMO the only way. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that you can do this. If you would like a little extra inspiration, I also produced a show on putting more than one ship in a bottle and I used some different methods to achieve the water and waves. Here's a link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OSxXXiTQmuU.html. I hope it helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show. Good luck on your project. Feel free to send me a picture when you are done. I'd love to see it.

Thanks for the kind words on the project Karl. I tried to make them differently than I made the ship in a bottle in the first series. I think I succeeded. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Well, I finally made it to the end. Worth every minute of it. Great work Kenny, looks amazing. Now I'm going to watch your first series of ship in a bottle. (After I finish watching the toy plane build).

I know this is aimed at being the approachable side of not requiring lots of expensive tools, but they make a set of tweezers called alligator forceps that are very long but only the tip opens. I think they would have been an asset in your rigging fight.
@acutabove_woodworkings
@acutabove_woodworkings 2 года назад
They may have been an asset but they wouldn't have saved the rigging from being embedded in the silicone. LOL. I may have to look into those forceps and get a set for my shop. Thanks for chiming in with that and for tuning in to the show.

What a great series on how to build a ship in a bottle, I followed Ken on each Tuesday video, I hopefully will will try to make a ship in a bottle, once my woodworking obligations are done and what I like about Ken he explains everything even his mistakes not like other RU-vidrs who just edits it out, Ken shows that not all woodworkers are perfect, even I as a well seasoned woodworker l will show my mistakes but a mistakes also gives character Thanks Ken see you Friday

Thank you so much for all the kind words Alan. I do my best to keep my show real to provide a realistic representation of what really happens in the shop. I don't want to pretend that every project goes exactly as I planned because in reality, that doesn't happen. By showing the mistakes and how to correct them, I believe it will give beginners the confidence they need to try new things, knowing that even the seasoned veterans make mistakes. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week. Always great to hear your opinions on the show.

Some real mastery making it all look great in the end. The bottle is so classy. The water whiteheads/wake and multiple boats. Not a first time boat in a bottle build :)

Glad that you like it. This one was fun and I branched out and tried some new techniques for the water. It definitely all worked out. Thanks for tuning in to the show.
