Just a couple of tips that you might find useful. When using a hole-saw drill through until the main drill goes through the timber, then turn the timber over and drill from the other side = no more daggy bits of timber to clean off just a quick sanding around the sides. When watering your blocks, water from the bottom which allows capillary action to draw the moisture up into the block. Lastly, cut your PVC pipe to the length that you want your seed blocks to be..... Short ones for small trays and a longer length for deeper trays or bigger seeds. Good luck.
Thank you, great advice! Yes, wood working/tools are not really my strong suit. Yes, I should have cut it shorter. I realized that when I started using it. thanks again for the tips;)
Look forward to the comparison. Thanks for doing this!

Don't worry about the meal worm frass if you don't have it. When you plant your seeds, make a small hole & just cover/sprinkle with peat moss. The first time I did it I didn't have very good germination because I didn't use the peat on top. The 2nd time worked great. Happy planting! Dash
