No! Great question. Gold-filled is a type of metal that is mechanically bonded to the base metal (in this case brass) using heat and pressure. It doesn't wear off like gold plating does. Gold-filled is 5% gold, which is the outer layer making it safe for sensitive skin and it is very resistant to tarnishing, just like solid gold, but much more affordable. Gold plating is usually around 0.05% gold and the layer is usually chemically bonded to the base metal (could be nickel, brass, etc) meaning it can wear off super quickly and tarnish because it is just the base metal at that point. I will add this topic to my list of future videos and do a more in-depth dive into this in the future. :)
