Thanks for the heads up! I actually waited until I mounted the trans to the motor to torque down that nut just because it was tough to get enough torque on the bench

Cost more than 4x how much I got the 4 speed swap parts for and I plan on doing a motor swap in the future thatll need a whole different transmission anyways 😉
I just won a 1971 BMW 1600 and I'm new to all this work on cars, but I want to learn how to do it, so you have some tips and tricks? Were can I find some tutorials? I like your videos a lot btw! Need more of them.
You won one?! Congrats man! And I highly recommend checking out the 2002faq forums. Ive learned a fair amount on there as well as the 2002faq facebook page. Ill be uploading more on this car when I have time but those resources should help quite a bit!

I've been working on the car a good amount the last couple months and have a lot of stuff filmed! Just need time to edit and I'll be releasing new videos soon!
You need at least poly bushings for the engine mounts and transmission mounts to run a chassis/solid mount shifter properly. I run the 80a (red) garagistic bushings on my e30s with the solid mount shifter and it works beautifully and isnt as harsh as solid engine mounts 👍👍
@@derkm Thanks for the response. I bought and just returned those sane mounts. On Garagistics website the poly mounts are different for the e28. I have a 528e. The bushings for the e28 are double in price lol.
All depends! I'm personally just running some ebay headers and then I got my buddy to adapt my existing custom exhaust that was on the m20 to fit the new headers on the m50. I've always gone to my friends to fabricate exhaust piping for me but I'd just RU-vid different e30 m50 exhausts and see what you like

@@derkm time is ticking. Got my freshly rebuild motor back and jammed the engine compartment to put the new engine and trans back in. Redid all volví brakes on my 68. Can’t believe I’m ahead of you. 🤣🤣🤣 I’ll be looking out for your new content for sure
@@waterlover haha nice!! I already did a bunch to the car and filmed it back in 2020 but just haven't edited the footage. Car is currently already manual swapped and the whole drivetrain is pretty much refreshed; axles, hubs, transmission, shifter, and some other bits. Those will be the videos you'll be seeing soon along with a new car I recently purchased 😎
@@derkm nice can’t wait to see the new vids. Yeah I did all new suspension and drive train nothing else to do but bodywork and paint and while it’s at paint I’ll drop off the interior to get redone. Just have to save up for some RS BBS’s
