The part where you forgot to hit record was kind of encouraging. I always struggle with tech issues and it's good to see the pros with much bigger channels have issues too. Showing you don't have to be on top of everything to have a popular channel.
Didn't know dango were boiled! Based on how in the game they seem to have ovens and you see a lot on display with scorch marks, I always assumed they were baked or grilled. Interesting to learn!
They can be steamed as well! And some are grilled, the first one that comes to mind is the Mitarashi Dango, that one is roasted over a campfire of some sorts, and that's why it has those scorched marks! Also served with some delicious sweet soy sauce :D But yeah, it can be grilled over fire, steamed on a bamboo basket but also boiled just like this!
What a fun little ditty at the beginning, I didn't know you could sing. Your reason as to why you used food gels to color the dango instead of the liquid version is a good one: These dango look great as a result of your reasoning, well done. I also like how creative you were with the fillings
You've inspired me to try cooking dango: it seriously always felt unattainable until this video. Thanks for a great video and an awesome break down. I just recently discovered your page and I'm loving it so far :)
So tempting to try to the Mint-ature! I've got a fairly large Asian supermarket very close by I could probably find the right flours at. And I can think of a few smaller ones I could probably search too. It's also really cool to see how versatile dango is!
I absolutely loved this! Honestly one of my favourite videos of yours, I would love to see you try out the other dango flavours from Monster Hunter - only if you want to of course! I always find these videos super chill and comforting, but something about this one in particular really hit the spot. I hope you have a great day! :)
This is the best dango video I have found. You make the dango with actual different flavours and fillings. Other videos just make regular dango and only add food colouring, no flavour!
Big of a late comment, but I hope you end up making all the dango flavours eventually Also I think the sweetheart one is a brown sugar or raw sugar dango since we see other dango in the game be pure white
When you said you prefer the feasts from world I honestly do agree. The bunny dango is cool but I'd much rather have a full blown feast before I hunt than a light snack. I haven't actually played any monster hunter games other than rise but I've seen the feasts and they look amazing
This is really cool. Can we see you making more videos like this? Where we see you try to make something from a video game, I really like how you interpreted it from a item description.
Would love to see more of your interpretations of video game foods - your ingenuity in this is really evident! As always, great content. Super underrated.
I think the lack of filling is because it would’ve been far easier if the book suggested to freeze the fillings, most of them weren’t exactly solid, and then wrap the dough around it. It shouldn’t cause any problems since they get boiled as well. I usually do it when I make chocolates or other foods that have runny fillings, like cookies or soupy dumplings. I pour it into silicone molds since they’re much easier to pop out that way, but ice cube trays work perfectly fine too. I don’t blame you at all for that, with that technique i can’t stuff them much either. They looked so fun pretty and colourful though, I’m thinking of keeping it as a birthday idea instead of western style treats, they’re usually too heavy for me.
The main character of the game strangely looks familiar and a bit like you, especially when he does goofy faces while eating the dango xD. More seriously thanks for all the tips for dango-making it inspires me to try them ! I also loved when they were all boiling in your pan they looked like colorful toy balls dancing xD
I wish you make more of Monster Hunters dangos! Would love to see you remake this video some time in the future too because I feel your first reactions to the food adds so much to the viewing experience. Cheers! 🍡
hey i know i'm late, but i thought that it would be a great idea if you tried cooking some of the food wars (or shokugeki no soma) recipes! i would love to see your reviews and how exactly you cook the recipes!
I just wanna say i really enjoy your videos :) i found your channel a year ago through your pokemon curry video and i've really enjoyed all the videos. Its really cool how you make video game related recipes! :)
These look delicious. Even without a recipe to follow it seems like they turned out well. I saw that Monster Hunter has a cookbook out, I wonder what kinds of recipes are in there?
The intro song was very fun😂Also, do you have any favorite cuisines? I always have a hard time picking, but Italian and Moroccan are at least two of mine
Hmm there are so many great cuisines to choose from. Might be a cop out answer but it's a tie between Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Hakka, there's too much!
@@MisoHungrie I gave two, so I definitely cannot talk about picking only one😂Those sound really good too! I wish I could say I've tried them all, but I will one day
Hey miso just wanted to let you know that a new cookbook just dropped it’s the halo cookbook to be exact I would love to see you make a cookbook review on it also love the channel all the food looks very yummy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Please, you must do a Naruto cook book soon. One more video idea. I want to know more about you and how you became one of my favorite RU-vid chefs. :) Thank you, and keep up the amazing videos.
I've made homemade dango before. Plain and matcha flavor and they tasted terrible. You make me want to try again. Adding powder sugar and flavorings? How would have thought?
Before I randomly stumbled upon this video I had to go to a special Japanese restaurant just to eat dangos. But after watching this masterpiece I can finally cook them myself. Huge props to you, you inspired me to cock for the first time and that was great
I feel somewhat sorry for the Hunters in this game. Like, in previous games you had this massive menu of meat, fish, bread, vegetables, dairy and drinks to choose your menu from and in Rise the hunters are limited to a diet of only Dango and a cup of tea to go along with it. Frankly, I suspect most nutritional needs these days are satisfied using consumables on quests...
15 seconds in and I get ptsd from that terrible nursery rhyme song. I'm so glad sunbreak didn't have that garbage. On the other hand, great job on the presentation and preparation of those "absolutely not ment for mass consumption or any sort of proper meal whatsoever" candies.
