Edit: I probably won't continue this run (though I might start it over to do in honour mode) I’m doing an experiment which is why I left ~70 comments before posting this video… If you’re watching with your phone, check out the Timed Comment section! No idea if people will like seeing little notes while they watch, but thought I’d give it a try!
@@burritoinspace. you can still use it, there’s a button to open the comment section. But the video is so small, it probably makes for a bad viewing experience 😅
@@Minimoz I have! I'm working on a different challenge right now, but I was considering doing that next. I already have the class pick order (rough draft) planned out in a word document, lol
Sometimes I have nightmares where I am unsure if you can beat baldurs gate with a salami. But I can rest easy knowing finally, someone is solving the cutting edge of science
I wish there could something in the Baldur's Gate news paper about a bizarre band of dual wielding salami bandits running amock terrorizing the countryside
Haha thanks. I’m gonna start a few more challenge runs through act 1 and then work on finishing them all. Wish I could make videos faster but just not there yet…
Hitting people with salami is funny. 4 of the most canonically powerful beings in the realms walking into a legendary forge, utilizing their most potent spells, not to do damage, but to supplement their relentless barrage of meat slaps against the forge's eternal and otherwise invulnerable golem guardian... That's comedy.
but shadow heart doesn't nessesarily disapprove evil. she is one of the few character that you can play evil with alongside astarion, minthara, and to some extent leazel.
@@turtlecat465 well she like avoiding conflict and she care about children, so as long as the evil is not just murder hobo evil she is fine with it. She might not be actually ok with it but her teaching tell her otherwise.
@@Peytoneileen well he never really turn bad, i think that is a bit of a stretch. Just a tiny one. The only one he opposing by that is mystra and only because he feel like he can do better.
:( I’ll get back to it, life is just busy right now and the roleplay style videos are harder to make than a challenge run. When I have more time & energy I’ll continue the roleplay series.
The other thing about Grym is that you can use gravity to deal massive damage to it. Being unable to use gravity means that you couldn't park your tavern brawler with the salami at the top of the arena to chuck salamis. Since gravity deals bludgeoning damage, Grym takes double while heated. Literally because of gravity, I was able to 1-turn grym on my playthrough. I just had 2 of my characters, an Eldritch Knight and Karlach as a berserker with tavern brawler, simply throw hammers and Karlach used the pike while I had the other two down below. One to activate the lava, and the other used reverberation to trip him up. Even though it's resistant to Thunder, it's not immune so Reverberation was perfect for Gale to gatling gun magic missile to maybe trip it in the lava, and Grym wastes the round by trying to get back up.
yeah let's just say that even on normal the Ai of the NPC can sometimes surprise the hell out of ya real quick. at moonrise i had three zealots that decided to be the most well thought out moves i saw that playthrough. one dash to my MC's backside shoves me outside the tower, 2 buffs the third than throws a singularity grenade that pulls me onto the bridge, last Zealot walks up to my side then shoves my MC off the bridge into the chasm. now i'm down one character and ever one of Z'rell's spells disabled my other characters leaving them open to a beatdown.
So basically THE best tactics would be to meke party of 2-3 monk/barbarians with unarmed attacks Full STR/DEX so you have almost full potential in every fight you encounter.
The Grim Forge actually seems to be a Air Hammer or Power Hammer. Not really using gravity as much as it is using air. if you look around the room there is lots of piping, maybe to power the pumps for the power hammer. If it just gravity why all the pipes?
I dont know about the goblins but in the monastery before the githyanki creche you can pick up winebarrels with kobolds inside , and they stay inside them until you break them , so you can keep a little kobold pet for other fights
The forge hammer Is definitely not using gravity to work. It's mechanical force which doesn't rely on gravity. Although throwing salami relies on gravity. All forge hammers are connected to a flywheel to create the force to move it
I wasn’t sure if it was mechanical force lifting it, then releasing it from above and letting gravity do the “work”. Since I wasn’t sure, I decided to just slap it out.
Haha I wasn’t sure if it was being lifted and then dropped or lifted and then propelled down. Deep down I probably just wanted to slap Grym to death with Salami
Realising how bad i am at this game. I play with no strategy, no creativity, just straightforward pick an action that directly deals damage and repeat until everything is dead.
Some guy named Jahan came over around the Black House, soooooo I inprisoned him in my basement. I suspect your working with him. Until we meet again, Fracture...😈
I've only recently tried BG3 and can't get enough of it. Your challange videos are making me happy, thank you very so much, good sir! Keep at it, please!
Honestly, depending on what you do shadowheart can approve some pretty horrible shit… like in my playthrought were I save everyone… initialy. Then I kill them in the most horrible betrayal
I still intend to do more with Krieg! But life has been busy and the roleplay videos feel… bigger to work on. A simple salami smack down is easier to have fun with when life is busy.
@@Fracture.Gaming It was still a delight to watch! And of course I still have the Act3 at Level 1 to watch, but I have to finish the game first to avoid spoilers.
@@archer111000 that video is amazing. I mean obviously I’m biased… but it also has the best average view duration of anything I’ve made on RU-vid so far. So hopefully it’ll be a fun watch whenever you’re ready for it :)
BTW i would always get the branding. it gives no negative and only helps. obviously not for roleplay but for challanges and test there is legit no reason to not take it. (unless i just dont know of a negative)
That forge hammer is definitely using some sort of piston. I'd say gravity is only things that use fall damage in its calculation, like throwing, pushing, and that monk skill that uses fall damage to decide our extra damage.
Knowing speedrunners, they'll probably also make it so that you have to slap someone with it before the run counts, and it'll be called "Public indecency%" or something
Haha yeah I wanted to give it a try! If a lot of people like it then I can launch videos as live premieres and encourage people to leave time stamped comments and then fill in the gaps myself to make sure the timed comment section shows up.
You can make the Nere / Duergar fight much easier by talking with Elder Brithvar and cutting a deal with him beforehand. You can convince him and his buddies to mutiny against Nere for a share of his gold. When you confront Nere, Brithvar rebels and you can choose to join the mutiny or turn on Brithvar. Either way you will only be fighting half the Duergar during the fight.
Awesome video. Looking forward to the next part. You create some of the best BG3 challenge run content on the platform. A few bad ideas for the wheel of disadvantage. • Sleeping In -> Send one party member of your choice to camp so you have to fight the battle without them. • Mimic's Revenge -> Each character can only use one Salami in the fight. This means no duel wielding, or reequipping new ones from the inventory. If thrown the same one must be picked up. • Half Full -> Each turn all character must only use either main actions or bonus actions but not both. The type of action chosen can be switched at the start of a round.
Ooh these are cool wheel ideas, I like them a lot! Great names too, I love that you turned the mimic battle into lore for the wheel. I’m thinking that I should make a second wheel for act 2 with ideas from the comment section!
Haha I wasn’t sure if it was just a mechanism to lift it up and gravity drop, or something actively propelling it down. So I figured I would just slap the big boy with salami till he dies.
@@leetheeagle7264 so you’re saying there’s a little bit of gravity 🤔 the ruling… NOT ALLOWED!! I think somewhere deep down I just wanted to try it without the hammer honestly
