Its funny when you see people talking shit on producers or really anybody's craft, because they NEVER EVER have anything to back their words up. People who are really down with the culture respect the hustle and creativity it takes to make even half decent beats, let alone make a legit career out of it. The people who sit around hating do it because they got nothing going for themselves. I've seen it a million times.
Marco Polo is probably the beatmaker who inspires me most ATM - he and RJD2 have had a huge impact on me learning how to combine several samples, tune them to fit together and as a consequence make beats on a whole other level. Marco rules!!!
I am consistently moving away from Hip-Hop, but the beatmaking aspect of it will always be in me. Videos like this one won't allow me to go away completely. NICE!!!
damn. it's nice to see someone who really appreciates hip-hop and appreciates music. that really seems to be lacking in the industry right now. keep producing dope beats....oh, and sweet vinyl collection.
I like how the drum loop has the hotness built in, doesn't even need to fuck around with layering the kick and snare. The shaker helps with that, gives it just enough wobble. Tempo is spot on too. That synth shit on the D is nice, especially with that glissando. The piano/harpsichord shit sounds like a Bach chop. This track is nice. At the end of the day, if it makes you bounce, keep it. If it doesn't, send it to the recycle bin with secure empty.
Marco i enjoy your work man,and have for the past couple of years man,and shout out to the OG BUMPY KNUCKLES! yo Marco get your shit down south harder for us too get it!!
Yea its a vst, his laptop had it open and its really familiar. Its really good if you like tweaking preset sounds and getting something custom. ive barely even dived into it
D'Ocho advice for upcoming producers, DONT LIMIT YOUR SELF EVEN AT TIMES IF THERE IS NO MONEY INVOLVED ITS MARKETING. IF YOUR PRICE FOR TRACKS IS NOT IN THE PERSONS BUDGET ASK HIM WHATS IN HIS BUDGET AND GO FOR IT! ITS MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET THAN U HAD. DONT EVER FEEL LIKE THAT SONG WAS WORTH MORE BECAUSE FIRST IT WASNT WORTH ANYTHING. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE MILLIONS OF HOT TRACKS IT'S IN U AND KNOW ONE CAN EVER TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU! NOW LETS GET THIS $!
what s fucking gem!!! bump this joint so much!!! no mask needed im blastin everybody, brought some bodybags im stashin every body.... marco polo you the man!
shittt,,,, i remember seeing te first one of these videos and loving it, i didnt realize u made another! marco polo, one of the illest producers to come outta T.O!
I just found out about Marco Polo when I saw the Akai sound packs he has, about 2 days ago. I feel like I am soooo out of the loop. I looked him up on RU-vid, and he’s been making beats with a lot of artists. I feel I’m missing out on a good producer.
@illmaticMINDS get .flac drum loops... use ableton or recycle... trigger with mpd or NI maschine... you'll get the same grainy vintage mpc vibe cos all the .flac are from vinyl anyways... plus if you want, you could simulated 12-bit 40 Hz with plugins. This days, it's redundant to have stacks of vinyl with bulky samplers... but I understand if it aint broke, don't fix it.
Sampling is truely an artform...That's nut how some dudes like Marco polo can just create drums like this by sampling....I dont sample, but I absolutely respect the art.. blaq ninja
This guy got one of the best expansion in the market right now. Obviously i'm Talking about pad thaï expansion. This stuff is a fucking murder for ears.
@motboy2 it's "who are you." I never said anything about his beatmaking skills. I do nothing but sample records and videogames, i am talking about his mixtapes, he would have beats made by other people. i'm talking about entire mixtapes using beats made by others, with his name on them. so calm down, i never said anything about this beat, i was refering to every mixtape that I have heard from him.
