Chances are you've heard about Ghost Recon Breakpoint and how poorly it was received. But I decided to see what I could do as a player to try and improve the experience. Turns out there's quite a bit you can do to improve the gameplay.

====INTERFACE SETTINGS====

====PERKS LIST AND EXPLANATION====
PARACHUTE - It’s probably best to avoid going splat.
NIGHT VISION - It’s too dark, I can’t see shit.
BOTH PERK SLOTS - To equip extra perks.
PISTOLERO - To increase pistol damage (this is useful since only one rifle is allowed).
RESOURCES DETECTION - Useless, only bought to access the next set of skills in the tree.
DRONE COOLDOWN - Also useless, bought to access the next set of skills.
BALLISTIC ADVANTAGE - Without this perk, bullet drop is way too intense. Highly recommend running this perk at all times regardless of weapon.
TIRELESS - To increase stamina (NOTE: The November 12th patch drastically increased base stamina. All of my footage was recorded prior to that date. You may want to remove this perk so you don’t end up with too much stamina.)
RATIONS LVL 2 - Useless, only bought to access the next set of skills in the tree.
STAMINA REGEN SPEED - To increase stamina regen speed (NOTE: Again, with the November 12th patch buffing stamina, you may want to remove this perk as well.)
WATER FILTER - Gotta refill that canteen. Stay hydrated kings.
SLIM SHADOW - To increase effectiveness of stealth. I found this to be fairly well balanced, but if it feels too easy to sneak around, remove this perk.
SIXTH SENSE - Useless, only bought to access the next set of skills in the tree.
BREACH TORCH - You never know when you need to cut through a fence.
ITEM CAPACITY 1 & 2 - This one is optional but it’s nice to have a lot of extra items.
SHOP CLEARANCE - This one is not really necessary either, but it can help you to top off your consumables if you are low on credits.
CLOSE AND PERSONAL - This is another optional perk. I didn’t end up using it in my playthrough, but if you like quick reloads, its good to have this perk on standby.
ROCKET LAUNCHER - Boom.

Didn't think I'd run into badger here, but it's a nice suprise. From Clu's video, what I take away is that Brekpoint has much potential, but we'll have to see how that goes. On another note, we need more videos badger, your brand of comedy is freakin' gold, and your mates are also quite funny.

Absolutely outstanding video on a criminally underrated game. Subbed, liked and shared. I just started a playthrough following your blueprint and I'm loving Breakpoint even more now. This Ghost Survival blueprint is the best way to experience Breakpoint.

Amazing video! My experience with breakpoint was getting interested, signing up for a chance to be in the beta, being intrigued by some things but not being able to get over how buggy it was. I never bought the game and I was disappointed at the wasted potential because I really wanted to like it. However seeing this video and knowing that ubi is trying to fix the game kinda gives me some hope. And if it turns out to fix my problems I'll totally pick it up. Awesome video clu! Keep up the amazing work!

I’m at level 225 with everything unlocked, but after watching this I think I’m going to start over and play it your way. This is how Ghost Recon should have been advertised 👍🏾👍🏾

HA! I called it. I knew they were gonna roll back to basically Wildlands 1.5 with survival mechanics after that godawful launch. Time to get this game with the boys in a year and a half.

I didn't realize how good the OST was in this game. I always had the music for the game off, as I usually don't like having music in games like this as I like to feel more immersed with just the sounds of the environment. But damn I gotta play with music on again sometime.

Damn u nailed my play through restrictions and rules to the T man and i only got the game when they added the immersive mode. Admittedly i am using the omni present death machine equipment very sparingly and i am loving this game and the video so far...subbed!

Somehow you made one of the worst games of the year into one of the most exhilarating ones in just video. If ubisoft did a bit of tweaking to the game like you did .it really could've been so much more .a good hardcore immersive realistic ghost recon game

Your production & pacing is leagues above most. Excellent work! Through the personal descriptions of these encounters, I can see how the game compels. They were fun just to watch. And damn, Breakpoint's OST is good.

Alpha Bronco Two Zero garbage? Its the perfect blend of acoustic guitar (and other conventional instruments), which calls back to Wildlands’ OST and electronic music which signifies Breakpoint’s near future “tech-based” story

Now with the release of immersive mode, I recommend you come back to this. I played through the story on extreme, tactical settings extreme, and no hud except maybe 2 things. It’s very much more immersive now

Another brilliant and engaging video, clu. I enjoyed this one very much, and I kind of want to get this game to play in a similar style now. It all felt like a big adventure in this video. Also, at 9:45: I love how the two dead bodies with gunshot wounds on the helipad only constitutes "signs of possible hostiles" on the intercom.

Re-watching this in 2022 now with all the updates. Many of them implement what you’ve done here, but for the most part in this game you really need to create your own experience. It’s amazing what people are doing with all the custom ideas and role-playing

I find it really hard to force myself into a playstyle that in theory will make my experience in a game more fun, but which wasn't intended by developers to be the optinal way to play the game. The best example is to try stealth in a game that expects a more direct approach to combat from the player. I often find this problem in Bethesda games which are easier to deal with because you can just mod for your prefered playstyle, you can just find a mod that removes an "overpowered" ability from the game so it doesn't seduce you. Sad that not a lot of big games these days support modding because fans could've made Breakepoint in to a great game

This type of playthrough definitely isn't for anyone. I think the only reason it works so well for me is because I come from thousands of hours of Arma. So I can appreciate all the good that Breakpoint does, it's just covered in a big mess of poor design decisions.

It would have been nice if they could ad New Game + so that you could just start over with the story missions, It feels kind of strange to just press replay on every single story mission, I don't remember the order of each one...

Wish there was an Arma game more like this (graphics, movement, dynamics) or a Ghost Recon game more like Arma (immersive, realistic). edit: But I understand its pretty difficult to make a Ghost Recon game realistic when in real life these kinds of missions are always carried out by a squad/team with days if not weeks of scounting, air support, etc.

This is a cool video. Inside a lot of bad games are still possibly good experiences, they just require this sort of thinking. Although, this game still probably can't survive even this play method, maybe. What are the other ghost recons like? I've played a lot of games but never those.

I think waypoints wouldn't be necessary if you could trade your mini-map for a constant compass. Then you'd always know what direction you were heading. Also having the option to have the compass follow either the camera or the player.

Going to watch part 2 tomorrow, but for now i just wanted to tell you this video was a brilliant piece of work on your part and very enjoyable! Not only has this very effectively demonstrated to me that higher difficulties can be fun in games like this one, but it's also got me really excited to try it myself with a friend or two to keep my poor emotional state from shattering from the absolute pain this will undoubtedly put me through. Thank you for your work and sharing it with us! And I'm sorry about that project of yours. I hope you manage to make the most of what happened. I was hoping for it to be a more serious wildlands 2.0 but we got a mix of the division and battlefield 2145. I couldnt wait to get the maximum gear score just so i can play with all the weapons i want only to be cucked in the last update when they bumped it up to 260. Honestly I know that there are a lot of people in the community that like this type of thing but this isnt ghost recon at this point. It gets worse with every game, how is this game more futuristic the Ghost Recon Future soldier which is futuristic? Im not sure how many people agree with me but the game is going the wrong way.

i just hate that it takes so long to pick up a body, but worst you cant even cancel when you get spotted drives me loco, but everything else is perfect only a few glitch here and there but is a good game, but please bring back the other helicopter fly settings like in wildlands that you can switch from 2 different control modes.

Not planning a video for it but I have played it very extensively. Definitely a huge improvement in the right direction but the game still has a long way to go.

clu that essentially boils down how I feel, and likely most of the core audience does as a whole. Breakpoint at its core has better mechanics and gameplay than Wildlands but it’s held back by design choices that were inherent to the core of how it was designed at first. It’s progress none the less, and I do think it will continue to improve. It’s a shame it didn’t release this way though.

Thank you sir for playing the game in a way that actually makes it a lot more fun and challenging. Happy to see that i am not the only one who enjoys tweaking the settings to get a challenge out of it! To each his own so i do not judge but i feel these should actually be the default settings. Nice video. 44 years old... but forever a gamer!
