I need a new memory card for my brain haha I can't believe how simple this is. So can I use say stayzon or memento dew drop ink or does it have to be distress ink? Thank you so much for showing the 3 shades with same colour my brain can cope with this information 😁 I'm so surprised how just moving it around a little moves all the colour quite evenly through the fabric. Definitely the darker one for this journal

It's easy when you know how and now you do. 😁💜 The distress ink is water based, so mixes well with water. The memento. Are waterbased too, so logic says yes. Stazon is a solvent based ink, so not sure what the result will be. I only have black and brown, so I leave you to experiment with that one💜😁

@@CameliaCraftsDesigns so are inks either waterbased or solvent and I guess archival falls into same category as stayzon as they are more permanent hmmm I think I'm getting it hehe

Basically yes. A bit like glue. If it says it's waterproof, it usually isn't water based. 😁

Wow! That turned out so beautiful! I always purchase dyed seam binding. Guess this is something else I'll have to try. I'm sure it's cheaper to do it yourself. Thanks for the tutorial!

Your seem binding is beautiful Julie! For this journal I would pick the darker shade as it picks up the flowers on the cover perfectly! X

Definitely the dark! Tfs. I have some lace trims I’m going to try this on .. they are all ivory so it’ll be good to change colour😊 was there a reason why you used the big bite instead of the hand held crop a dile? I’m only asking because I recently got myself the hand held crop a dile and I love it but am still getting used to how much pressure to apply. I don’t think I’m applying enough!! I wanted just one or the other, and thought the big bite was basically the same as the crop a dile but was for reaching further in! 😊💐

Thanks Lorraine😁Yes the dark one it will be💜 I only used the big cropadile as it was there on my desk. To be honest I prefer the handheld one when I don't need the extra reach😊💜

I'd call that "lips"😊 I enjoy dying ribbon, my problem is trying to get a good Christmas red and green. Do you have any suggestions. My reds have an orange hue when they dry. I've used 3 different red colors and still not a pretty Christmas red. I've even added a teeny bit of blue, which brightened but not what I was looking for. Maybe next year I can experiment more. I love Edith Holden books. I have a 1978 edition like yours and also a 1998? Not sure exact date on the second one. It is a purple/blue color. The 1978 has the book cover as yours but the other is just hard bound without a jacket. 🙄 Since I love older books, I will keep the original as is and use the later edition for my paper crafting. 😜

Hi again Terre. Last Christmas i managed a lovely Christmas red using Festive Berries distress ink and adding a little black soot. Can't remember which green i used for my green, but i did the same and added a tiny bit of black. My greens were a bit more hit and miss though. After putting the ink on the mat i swirled it around to mix the colour before dipping my seam binding in. Heres a flip through of the journal i used them in. so you can see how the red came out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0vVg9XCuB3k.html 😊🤗💜
