Spoken like someone who isn't a musician or knows much theory at all. 1) There is 12 notes in an octave, and only seven octaves on a grand piano, not 12. 2) There ARE thousands of scales actually, but n00bs focus way too much on scales, they don't matter as much as you think 3) There is an infinite combination of timbres, rhythms, voicings, and combinations of chords and progressions, and that is within just equal 12-tone temperament 4) You can use any chord within the piano, you just got to know how to get there, chromatic/non-diatonic notes open up endless doors, voice leading and intervals guide you in creative decision making and is the way music USED to be made before. But Trap and Pop producers aren't smart, which is why most good Hip-Hop is sampled anyway. Because they could never come up with something like that on their own.
