My suggestion on how to improve the player experience, especially for new players: bring back 3v3! The most unpleasant parts of the game are solved by playing with friends instead of randoms, and it's way easier to get 3 people together at a time than 5. Plus I always seem to have either 2 or 5 friends online at a time, rarely in between... but with 6 people you can make a custom match against each other. And now that Riot added Vanguard, they can't use bots as an excuse for not having it.

There truly are a ton of barrier to LoL entry in NA, specifically the US, that other cultures may not experience. Lack of access to powerful enougb PCs for example. Still, this is yet another example where a contributing factor are the community itself, talking about how horrible it is. No one's gonna ever tell me LoL is more toxic than a night of CoD back in the heights of Xbox Live.

Yeah I've thought of that also, but I've also thought about how he said he wanted an Ahri skin at Worlds and chose not Ahri ultimately (clearly I care about skins), so I assume Riot told him he'd also get an Ahri skin for this even back then.

I think a large part of why Arcane watchers didn't try the game is because the community scares them away, explicitly telling them to avoid the game. For some god forsaken reason dunking on league has become the hip thing to do, people who have literally never seen the game nowadays just view it as "that one toxic game that's bad".
