Aaron, I cannot get Korean Radish here in England but I can get Japanese Daikon easily. I know it will not taste the same but this what I have to use. Potato is plentiful in England as we love our potato. I am going to cook this and as for the meat, I will buy a brisket and slice it, myself. Love to you and Claire, from England

Really appreciate your cookbook and channel. 된장찌개를 첫번째 만들었어요. I’m getting less nervous that my lack of skill with Korean cuisine and inability to find ingredients like 단무지 will stop me from making a good meal. 된장과 chili crisp are my favorite flavors so both went in happily 같이. It’s not a traditional version with anchovy broth, etc but the flavor and fresh ingredients were in it. And 사랑 🥰 도움을 위하여 고마워요.

I’m a vegetarian and I’ve made this several times on rainy, cold days or when I’m feeling a bit blue. It’s comfort food at its earthy best. I just substitute the meat with both dried and fresh shiitakes, use the shiitake hydrating liquid, and add yondu and a little msg at the end.

OMG, if you are enjoying cooking your own Korean food you MUST make this, AND if at all possible find an Asian market and buy the sliced beef brisket and shitaki mushrooms. The brisket was expensive here in Greensboro (US$17.99 a pound) but it goes a long way. I made this with all of the ingredients, including Korean giant green onions, I did leave out the chilies but it was absolutely the best dish I have made so far. Aaron, you are a great teacher. I will get 2 meals out of the ingredients listed and I will make this again soon. The Korean soybean paste is a must, if at all possible go to a good Asian market and indulge yourself, you won't regret it. I knew I should have married that Korean/Italian woman years ago... ah, regrets... 👍👍👍

@AaronAndClaire The raddish, that’s known as “Daikon” or “Mooli” here in England. Could you check that Daikon/Mooli is the same thing as the raddish you’re using, please? Our Daikon looks like a ginormous white carrot, and tastes mild and sweet, but works brilliantly as a good filler vegetable when I make soups and broths. 7:05
