Making the Woodgrain Technique with Brambleberry’s Lavender and Cedar

Here is another video Instagram asked for after I posted the pictures of my wood grain soap. This time with a well behaved fragrance from Brambleberry, called Lavender and Cedar.
It behaved perfectly, and gave me lots of time to use all the colors I wanted to.
I used titanium dioxide from Brambleberry, (it’s the best!) and a pile of purples from Nurture Soap-

Please note, if you are new to cold process soap making, do as I say and not as I do.
I routinely soap in short sleeves with long gloves, and a face shield. (Which you can see very briefly in my Lemonder Blue Bee video, it’s a bit scary, sorry! )
However, you should always soap in long sleeves and with full protective gear! Lye is dangerous, as it is hot soap!

I’m so excited you all enjoyed it. I am working on the video for the fun Heartfelt collection from the sample kit I bought recently. I’ll hopefully have the pictures up tonight on my insta... Ivfound your channel looking for the wood grain technique. Thank you, now I understand the proper way to do this pour and cut. Usually people move so fast and don't explain anything! Your great at explaining things! I've been soaping for 12 years, but don't always do all the trendy stuff. However, I really wanted to learn this technique. Yay purple. Try living in Australia where we basically ran out of fragrance oil all over Australia and only having one real Soap supply store. People need to chill and think of those who lost family and great friends to this Virus, shipping and the like is nothing in the grand scheme right now. I live in a small Island around Australia where I wait 3 weeks minimum to get most things ordered anywhere. I love all your soaps, I'm a huge purple girl so loving this one 💜

No! Be you. I actually prefer the videos that get right into it. I think you're spot on with the white and black. That purple wood grain I did with the green and yellow definitely made the woodgrain harder to see. You say lazy...lol but you also have kids, work at a hospital, have your little farm and breed goats and kitties if I remember correctly. I think the word you meant was busy 😂 I can see the confusion. As they do sound similar.

It's human nature I think, to compare yourself to others, and if you are different... maybe consider that the deficiency lays within yourself... but it really is mostly due to my schedule. I hate to say the word "busy"... as it's like this weird badge of accomplishment... I may eventually do a nice short one that has a pic or two of me and the goats, (and prob a cat and a pony or two) just to say howdy, as I am always behind the camera!

Purple fan here!!! 🙃 Healthcare here also. I saw those comments and all I could think of was, "these people need to come see what I see in a 12 hour shift. They wouldn't be griping about something so insignificant such as shipping!" Thanks for sharing. I've wanted to try a woodgrain, but just wasn't comfortable with the pour. I've watched your recent videos on it and you've given me confidence, so I shall try it this month!!! Thank you so much! Oh do you ever use frozen goat milk lye solution? That's what I do, but I always freeze the loaf (i do have cane sugar in it thst also heats it up). Wasn't sure if it would work with CPOP?? I too really like BB fragrances. Oh course I always read to make sure it's an easy fragrance to work with 😅 Have a great week!!

It really kinda grinds my gears, as my brain goes to the same place yours does... like this? This is what y'all are griping about on the internet? Does your child have cancer? No? Everyones alive? Yes? Food? Shelter? Okay. Life is pretty good. Lets not be hateful about shipping things. I hope you did try it and it worked for you! As far as frozen GM, absolutely I have, that's how my soap mentor taught me. Depending on what else is in your soap, and how much of a water discount you do, you may be able to CPOP it. I do a decently steep discount, and that is why I *have* to do something to force gel, as otherwise I get the weird ungelled spot in the center of my loaves. I would try a test batch, and see! Also, switching to powdered sugar vs cane sugar may help as well.

Only if you are also okay with 99% of the communication of the friendship to happen solely by text format, as I am horribly introverted IRL and pretty much never leave the farm asides to go to work!
