Rewatching this video, I am getting into Turnip28 in earnest now, and yesterday I gave one of my own Fodders a peg leg. Gotta love all those little ways to make these guys look miserable.
I have never heard of Turnip28, but it sounds hilarious. Just had RU-vid point you out to me this morning. I enjoyed listening to you speak & create some cool looking minis. Great job.
I just found it a couple of days ago and almost skipped based on the dumb name. Now the root has blessed me! I ordered a box of soldiers and a bit of modelling clay straight away. My first slug is drying and waiting for its rider!
There's a game system very similar to Turnip28 you might like, very similar aesthetic but more in line with ww1 called "Sludge". Its a universe where timelines have broken so everything can be used from most eras. Its very free with converting and kitbashing
So you usually pick 3 to 4 units which can have between 3 and 12 guys in each. So you are probably looking at around 30 models for an army, but it depends entirely on what you want to make
So you will generally want a pair of modelling clippers, a crafting knife and some files, for sculpting you can get fancy sculpting tools or just use toothpicks etc. I've found 'army painter' to be a reasonable brand but they are all pretty much the same
