you fells do a real good job , a pair of perfectionists , for someone who claims they aren't mechanics as such you both excell , now I'm 71 and it is hard to find young blokes who actually are motivated to further themselves ......... CONGRATS FELLAS keep up the good work
If you're thinking about a 350 in the old Silver Mink HG, throw the rear end away or you'll be snapping springs and axles quicker than gravity. I became an expert at putting new parts in the arse end of mine back in the 70s. A sentimental throwback you have there.
In metal frames, gravity takes hold, Four wheels beneath, where stories are told. Through winding roads, its pull never wanes, Cars dance with gravity, like nature's refrains. When the 161 hums, defying gravity's plea, Nathan races through time, setting spirits free. From hills to valleys, gravity's embrace, An elegant tango, an endless chase. In old Holden designs, gravity might bend, A symphony of motion, the HG transcends. On highways wide, gravity's constant guide, Hackshop Garage mates working, side by side.
I can't believe you only have ~30k subscribers. Been a huge fan from Canada since the full shed tour like 2 years ago. You lot are seriously underappreciated. Great cars, great content and a friendship everyone is jealous of if they are being honest. If I'm ever able to visit Australia I'm tracking yous down to buy you a beer.
Good tip when using any of these underbody coatings is to warm it up first. Sit it out in the sun, or sit it on a hot plate or barbie for a bit. It thins it out to a more liquid viscosity and flows lot better, goes a lot further and gives a better end result. Especially so in winter. You will be amazed how big a difference this makes.
If gravity takes over, the rubber underbody spray on coating will soften the blow! Maybe even bounce the body back up on the hoist🤣 Another great episode guys👍keep up the awesome work👌
I'm a bit late for the GRAVITY win 😢, but like tag share follow for a runner up prize ?? 😀 Great content guys. I'm using your turbo LS build as motivation (and guidance) for my ex-HWP VX build 👍
I've used a product called Ferropro similar to the stuff your using and the instruction said wipe of the residue with a wet rag before painting. That was a long time ago but the product was brilliant?
when i was a rustproofer we used to use a old cheap air powered spray gun or degreasing gun, the suction type not the GRAVITY (see what i did there) style
A Brief History of Gravity by Bruce Elliot It filled Gallileo with mirth To watch his two rocks fall to Earth. He gladly proclaimed, “Their rates are the same, And quite independent of girth!” Then Newton announced in due course His own law of gravity’s force: “It goes, I declare, As the inverted square Of the distance from object to source.” But remarkably, Einstein’s equation Succeeds to describe gravitation As spacetime that’s curved, And it’s this that will serve As the planets’ unique motivation. Yet the end of the story’s not written; By a new way of thinking we’re smitten. We twist and we turn, Attempting to learn The Superstring Theory of Witten!
Sorry to sound like a grumpy old engineer but, the light in the sand blaster doesn't look like it's intrinsically safe, if there was a spark from the tube end or a short the environment would become a fire ball. Easy fix would be to mount the Fluro on top with a sealed Perspex window for the light to get in.
What are you thinking could be the fuel for the fireball? I have a cheaper abrasive blaster and it didn't come with intrinsically safe lighting. I have seen more professional jobs that have the shine-through arrangement that you've described though.
Boys, you've just put bully liner over acid, so it's not going to last. The safety data sheet shows the rust converter you've used contains phosphoric acid - that why you had the white powdery stuff once it dried. The correct way to use these products is to keep the surface wet (while brushing with a wire brush or scotch brite) and then rinse off immediately with water to neutralise the acid. Don't let the converter dry on the metal if you are going to paint over it. I'm gutted for you.
Gravity...helps keep your car on the road or brings it back down to earth if it gets air Loving the build and also interested to see how the butyl liner stacks up but it's looking grouse
Gravity you old mistress. Recently sprayed my Ute tub and side step plates with bully it’s good stuff, using the gun I noticed when your low in the bottle (low in paint) the texture obviously changes and can cause runs, so I figured do horizontal or upside down hard spots first or use the little clear hose attachment for the hard to reach spots
Great work on the HG boys. Looks fantastic. I have a HT Premier and just done what you have done with spraying the underbody with Stone Guard. While its in pieces, you could do split tubs and be able to run big fat rear tyres and also fix some of the rust in the rear inner quarters and inner beaver panel. While you have the tank out, put an aeromotive in tank pump into it!
Gravity, keen on the corti build hopefully soon will be building my own intech for boost. For the mega bench you should put removable arms that can be used like hoist legs fot this exact use
nice job cleaned up good not sure leaving that residue from the rust converter is a good idea might effect the way the liner stuff adheres to it just a tip for you if you intend to use the original diff housing i suggest you reweld the mount plates as they had a habit of breaking off the diff especially if you did a burn out seen it happen a few times suddenly the rear of the cars on the ground
This’ll be an awesome build. I always wanted to build a hkgt sleeper, stock looking but with a serious driveline that would run the numbers. As Isaac Newton once observed an apple fall from a tree in 1666 he thought of his system of gravitation, hence gravity
