Hey SOCO RU-vid Squad!!!
I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the moon and back for supporting all of our endeavors. I am SO new to RU-vid, so I also wanted to say THANK YOU again for being patient with me as I make mistakes with video uploads, posting… and you know, all of the things 😂. I’ll get the hang of this, I promise!!
Let’s get into it!!! MAKING FANS!!! Oh my gosh, was this hard for me. When I was a year into lashing, I was an ambassador for a very big lash company. This was long before volume lashes existed, so I was only offering Classic Lashes, and I was really happy with that. What I didn’t realize would happen was… I was let go from my position, because I sucked at volume. Yep! Just like that… POOF… they didn’t want me anymore. It was heartbreaking, embarrassing, and I really questioned my art.
Instead of giving up [even though I felt so defeated], I took a few volume classes. It wasn’t until me 8th class that it actually started to click. I PRETENDED that it clicked, because everyone else seemed to understand fanning… and I felt really stupid. As some of you know, I am almost always the LAST person in every class to understand something, complete the set… and it’s not because I’m a perfectionist. It’s because I am a REALLY slow learner.
Instead of giving up, I decided to put on my bravery pants and try and help other artists understand what I didn’t. I know what it’s like to be the only person to not ‘get something.’ I know what it’s like to feel left out, because you just can’t seem to keep up- no matter how much you try. I know too well what it’s like to pretend that I understand something to avoid feeling embarrassed. If you can relate to that, you’re in good company, because so do I.
My RU-vid channel is solely dedicated to the Lash Artist who pretend to understand what their dong for social approval. But here, you don’t have to pretend. You’re human, and it’s okay to ask as many questions as you have.
This channel is the cone of safety, and I really want you to feel comfortable asking all of your questions, ESPECIALLY if it’s something that you think you should know. This is the place where you don’t have to pretend, and you ca be human.
