We've been asked a number of times why we are bagging grain when we just built new storage. Answer is that new storage isn't even enough to hold this year's crop. Last year we had 50,000 bushels on the ground and another 50,000 in our equipment cold storage. This year we have 75,000 bushels in new grain bins which means another 30,000 - 50,000 needs to go somewhere. This is why we are working with Loftness to make more storage. Welker Farms has been short on grain storage for a number of years now but 2020 is the year we fix that!
Welker Farms since you get asked it a lot I see the comments and take a look at them. Is it so common that it’s just easier to copy and paste the answer?
I know of a chap he use to drive an old Clayton 5 of them in line one behind the other you would get sacked on the spot if there was a wiggle in your straw row they had to be plum straight no auto pilot in the 70s a Robert 😁👍👍 good to hear 60 bushel all down the the rain fall you would love 36 inch of rain 😂😂😂 nice work Hollywood on the cam shots, happy harvest💪👏👍😁
In all the days of binge watching Harvest vids of 5 farms, as a non-farmer, you’re the first one to explain exactly what the combine does, how it pulls the grain from the plant. Thank u
@@WelkerFarms I get choked up watching our 🇺🇸farmers, knowing our agriculture was sold out to Mexico, Canada & other countries for decades & we couldn’t survive without all of u. I’m hoping USMCA changes all that! God Bless you!
Man i feel like every profession should have such a channel. it's so valuable to show the youth how the real world day to day work looks. i'm not a farmer but those videos make me wish i was xD
Looks like a pretty good harvest year for you. Glad you have those new bins. Thank you for the video - hope the family and you are doing well. Take care Spin.
Real nice, hope you find the short. Some people got hail you were blessed with rain. You need it in this enviornment. Having water bagels tommorrow. If the price of wheat goes up so does the bagel. Some at 1.10, 1.25, and others at 1.30. Dogs can hear things before us and smell too.:)
Just the best commentary! And the drone footage excellent - a drone video 'stand alone' would be much appreciated even if a little shorter in length - enjoyed!!
Bernhard Charles I’ve been sharing lunch and dinner and breakfast with my dogsfor over 70 years and it’s still just as enjoyable now As it was way back in the early 50s
1992 was wet for us. I went and bought a grain cart and dad thought I was wasting my money. Turns out we ran every acre through that cart. One of the wettest years I've seen...///
I'm pretty sure that part your thinking of coming from the turbos is an Air to Water cooler to help cool down the compressed air before entering the engine.
I think we should all bring back an old word. That word would be " it's a threshing machine" I think it pays homage to the pioneers that busted all that sod by hand and the joy they felt when the threshing machine was invented.
Robert, it is so nice to see the love you have for your best mate, Coby. Amazing company aren't they? Does the Mrs let him sleep on the bed as well? Lol Tony from Western Australia.
Nick yo-yo yo watch what you’re doing🤣👍 spill diesel on that beautiful red tractor oh boy 🙏👍 most case farmers consider those quad tracks there Corvettes 🥰
Your machinery is really nice a have to drive the 7140 for harvest I have to ask you something about your 7140 our aircon don’t work in it so yeah we have a combine 8230 40 foot head I drove the header for harvest sometimes and I am only 11 years old
I’m a John Deer guy but I’m enjoying this so much Monday I’m going over to the case dealer and buying a quad. PS: I plan on paying cash American pesos, green backs so have a couple wheelbarrows ready.
I wonder whats in those sausages? Could they be prime beef mince or would it be pork! Oh l know, with all that lovely venison and those turkeys that are just lined up to be my SUNDAY Dinner. They are made of prime Turkey and venison.mince! Woww such yummy sausage links for a barbeque or sunday lunch.
Nick what ever type fuse that is blowing they make a fuse type curcuit breaker that will reset it self and you wont have to keep putting new fuses in. get several diff. ones to keep in the machines until you can fix the problem. I did not know if you knew that
Any advantage having a grain cleaner at your bins for cleaner grain at the elevator? Do you notice more kids in farming since more computers, automation & air-conditioning are involved nowadays?
Can you do a thorough ish review and preview of the new cab, armrest and terminal when you got the time?. Been waiting for years for CNH to finally update their lineup. They have been quite outdated in many ways compared to Agco machines, JD and so on. So the new Magnum and T8 looks great imo but theire way to big for these parts so still waiting on the new models of the smaller range but it will be basically the same as these and its hard to find good videos showcasing the new things
You guys are really good with the commentary, probably honed the skill being out there with nothing to do except talk to yourself! Did you hear about the farm boy who went to Harvard, graduated and a professor asked him what he was going to do now that he had graduated. He said, “grow wheat on the family farm in Montana”. The professor was a little taken back and said why did you come to Harvard to grow wheat? He replied, so I’d have something to think about when I’m out there all alone on a tractor. Only a farmer would understand that makes sense, right?
Just extra storage from what I understand when your grain bins are not enough. I believe the grain needs to be at a certain moisture to use bags. Maybe someone much more knowledgeable will set the record straight ?
Watching that video montage, I thought; THIS is what makes America great! Also I noticed in the view from overhead, the header is canted a little left to right. Is this normal?
Fear not Mr. Welker I've found dogs wont generally return to an activity that causes them harm. Your pup willingly rides his post on that fender. He wouldn't do tgat if it was causing him harm. Ride on Coby hope you catch a rabbit someday.
The tractor monitor tells the back and front weight of cart. Also the score board on the out side of cart blinks if weight is too much where the combine is unloading into the cart.
My chiwawa long passed loved chicken he even learned when we spelled it so we called it the c word no syco chiwawa when he started to ketch on I'd grab a carrot you want a c word he knew something was up but let us slide
I admit that the first video I saw where Cody was riding on the steps that I went into my *Superman Animal Rescuer* persona. I was all prepared to swoop in and rescue an animal who probably has a better life than even my own animals. Funny, because I was raised on the farm but left home when I 18 because, well, you know, 18 year old's know everything, don't they? We always had dogs and they would follow me and my cousins everywhere we went. We did stupid, crazy things and they were right there with us. They could hone in on a rattlesnake long before we were in danger of stepping on it. I don't know whether they could smell it or hear it or see it, maybe all three. But we had to try to keep them off of it while one of us disposed of it because they were very protective of us and they would definitely rip that snake apart and usually get bit while doing it. The end result of that is a horrible thing to watch. Tuffy, our oldest dog had been bitten so many times that he eventually developed an immunity to their venom and didn't even swell up anymore! But he was always quick to put himself between me and any danger that he sensed and every dog that we had was just like that. It's great to have a good dog and vice versa. Every dog needs good humans. Carry on Cody and keep loving life!
