Dude. I’ve got 12yo fences built this way standing strong. And I’ve demolished over 20yo fences built the same way that were still holding strong, except the post were rotten at ground 👍
@@user-nq4vf3bu2y i think he means by US standards alot of heavy fencing used to be put together with brads and due to the load would just fall off. Unlike your boards across the pond they may be alot lighter then here most of the time the boards are wetter than a fish when installed or just installed incorrectly.
Buddy. Where I am in Canada , fence boards are soaked from pressure treatment. When they start to dry, those boards will want to twist and WILL pull those 16G out.
We both know those nails aren't for that job, it will last until its really wet, really dry or really windy, but what do I know it probably won't weather outside
Considering I demolished 20-year-old fences that have post rotten at the ground, yet the pickets that are shut in the same manner are still holding strong onto the fence, explain that?😂🤦♂️
@@naileditfencing I have that same nailer and built a very similar fence and I pinned the pickets on the same way. Guess what. They all now have stainless screws in them because 16ga nails did not hold.
I'd rather have an air compressor and a pneumatic nailer. Those cordless ones need maintenance more often than the air gun because most of them don't expose the air valve in the open so you have to take them apart entirely just to refill the air, like Milwaukee. The air will leak eventually with or without usage no matter how well designed the structure is, but most of those companies aren't willing to admit to that, and that's the problem. Plus, the pneumatic ones are a lot cheaper, even cheaper than the maintenance fees those companies charge for refill.
I have on my TikTok. Plus I’ve done videos where I’ve demolished old fences. The posts are rotten, but the pickets are still holding strong after 20 years.
@@naileditfencinggiven that you are using a Brad nailer to make fencing…. Yes…. People do in fact need to ask. You lot across the pond really cheap out when making things lmao. Should’ve used a ring shank 15 degree coil siding nailer. No mar tip leaves no marks and a nice flush shot every time. Can paint your nails to match fence color very easily while on the coil. Stainless with ring shank would hold up for literally ever, no matter the weather. This must be how you ensure you get constant repair work lmao. Dodgy man 😂
Depends what you mean by best? I can do quite a lot of amazing things if I had an unlimited budget for example. Either way, Brad nails for this particular style of fence and these particular materials will last the test of time. 👍
@@naileditfencing I guess a good thing about brads is that you can more easily shoot them at an angle and that should help prevent boards pulling loose.
Found this video when I searching for Makita Nailer, I assume this is an old tool. and I did read through the comments, and quickly went through your channel, considering you are in Aus, and I think it's a pretty dry place, some galvanized 16g should do aye, plus if the client wants nail hole-less finishing.
Uuuuuuuum, someone is going to lean on those pickets and they are going to full out. 16 gauge "finish" nails on an exterior fence😂 I wouldn't pay for that fence!
Clearly you have no experience. Last week I just demolished a fence over 20 years old using the same method. I guess that fence, and all the other fences built like this are just magic. 😂🤦♂️
@@planespeakingthey are made with siding nailes, never have i seen a profesional use “finish nails” not to install fence especially not in panel fabricationi have seen staples but hey you get what you are paying for i guess 🤷🏼
Mate I think your a legend. Can you do a video on different timber types? I'm stuck offering either Treated Pine, Colourbond, or "Hardwood" and have no idea what to offer. Do a good job, good work, but need to extend my range to offer and everything I find for info is american
This dude not only doesn't know what he's doing but he's arguing in the comments with the people who knows he's a complete jack.... you don't use Brad nails on a fence you use Brad nails for millwork. That poor customer....
I demolish old fences that are 20 years old. Posts rotten at the ground. Yet the pickets shot with outdoor brads are still in tact on the fence. Explain that? 😂🤦♂️
