You can move the dust collector port to a new location. When you add a dust collection hose does it balance out? My current corded sander, I have to use a lifting motion on the hose to keep the sand paper in full contact with the wood.

Thanks Christopher, yes there is a screw at the base of the exhaust which allows you to remove/move the dust extractor port to another location by removing it and re-attaching, how ever, I've just tried it and it won't allow me to simply loosen and rotate. Regarding collection hose, they will always off balance any machine, but how much will depend on how flexible/heavy/size of the hose. Have you tried supporting the hose with your shoulder? This should help with the weight, but the flip side is, it can reduce movement, especially when doing large sweeps. Please let us know how you get on.
