OMG, I'm so getting one, I already have a generic brand wand that takes a single Makita battery, and allthough it's not this powerfull, its perfect for keeping on my truck to rinse the sand off of everything and everyone, I even carry a gallon jug, and have plenty of water left over . Maybe I'll hold off for a 40V version, but this looks pretty nice nonetheless, I'd just keep the entire thing on a tiny dolly when moving around, as a matter of fact, I already have a couple of tiny foldable Makita dollies that would work perfectly for this . love it, TNX.
Oh hi Tom hope you like your new power washer, please let me know if you have any problems with it (hopefully not mine is running fine) cheers for reaching out my friend 🤟🤟
Great video overview of the product, I think this would be a great seller if they had the option to plug it in to mains power also. Bummer it can't... Cheers
@@UKTOOLTALK Exactly, even the on-line specifications say "max pressure is achieved when plugged in", so, I suppose they have/had some means to connect it to mains, but did not include it? Maybe? I dunno. Am considering buying one of these. I can see a lot of use cases.
That’s a great review pal. Answered all my questions. It is expensive, but on the first job it would actually save me money. I Have to occasionally hire a diesel pressure washer bowser. A bastard to have to organise hire, collection, delivery etc. Then you have to find a way of filling the bastard, as you can’t legally drive with them filled. All for often cleaning a 5x5m mast foundation. This is great, as the whole lot probably weighs less than 70kg. This means we could also hoist the whole thing, with water up very easily on a rope system and use it at any height to clean prior to painting. It would Suspended by the rope while using it, then simply lower to the ground when finished or need a water refill. Shame the seal on the box is crap and the Lance hose is shitty.
Hi friend thanks for the great feedback, yes for the right job this bit of kit would be just the ticket and save time and money, I guess the hose Could be chucked and a better hose used, I kinda wish you could just buy the power washer body with no accessories and build up your own kit to suit the job, might make it allot cheaper and more flexible, I'm currently working out how to fit the body of the power washer into a type4 mac pac box with a type 1 box on the side of it to make it fit and I'm getting a 30 litre water Container to use instead of the big box which I'm probably going to try and sell on ebay, cheers for watching and commenting 🤘🤘
I have a Ryobi EzClean and can wash my car using less than 15L of water and it only uses half of one 4ah 18v battery. I have a couple of 25L water containers I use.
For the price , Specially if people dont have a battery and charger yet.. Is only worth to have in remote areas or so ... Like for me its to put in my caravan so i can wash it and my Mountain bike often.
Good point my friend and well said, I can imagine a load of mucky mountain bikers power washing their bikes especially if there was a stream next to them to suck the water from!!! 🤟🤟
Oh hi Ryan yes it’s a very expensive item!!!, fancy buying mine?, might be selling it since I never ever use it!!!,if I definitely decide to sell it I’ll let you know 🤟🤟
I wish Makita would make a small and handy 18V power washer like ryobi did. It would be less powerful of course, but for most small jobs it would be ok I think. And it would only need one battery. And it would (should) be way cheaper than this 36V one.
take Worx powerwasher and do a adapter for makita batteries. I am using Worx Powerwaschers 18 V with makita 18V Batteries for a 3 years. It does pretty well. No issues on batteries or the machine.
Hi sir I think makita do a foam nozzle attachment!, I was thinking of getting one, it seems to be a fairly standard connector so maybe other makes of attachments will work, to be honest I never hardly use this makita item, away hope you are well 🤟🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK I'd have said put it on 2 xgt batteries for the nessecary power. The frustrating thing is they ruined the heat gun the exact same way.. The 18v platform just doesn't have the oompf for super high power demand. I don't understand why makita have a pathological need to release tools on the 18v platform when they know its insufficient for the job.
Great question sir, iv looked into it and looking online all the copy makita 9ah battery's seem 30mm deeper, now then iv measured the battery compartment on the power washer and considering these battery's seem to be 90mm deep instead of a original battery being 60mm I think they should just fit, it's really tight tho, it looks like the battery's would be nearly touching the compartment wall so I wouldn't like to say definitely they would fit buuut I think they would, I'm afraid iv had bad experiences with copy makita battery's and I don't buy them so i can't test it properly for you, anyway my friend I hope this has been some help and yes in theory this should give you more run time but beware it makes proper makita battery's very hot when used in this tool and I don't know how well copy battery can handle allot of heat, oh well merry Christmas 🤘🤘
@@UKTOOLTALK thanks for the info mate I have just ordered 2 of the battery I will give you an update when they arrive and let you know how I get on with it 👍
Sorry for the late reply my friend, yes your right it would be better that way, im going to build a set up on a makita trolley with a water container on bottom and the power washer on the top and hopefully it will work easier, cheers for reaching out 🤟🤟
You can get that unit for about 270€ (ca. 230 pounds) over here. For that price, this is a nice piece of kit. And if you have no water available like I have, this actually is priceless.
The review is fun and informative. The only thing I have to say is, the fault finding aren’t really faults. The fact you looked for a leak in the box when it was in the correct transport position, it didn’t leak, so you tipped the box the opposite to its design and it leaked. Not exactly scientific fella. Also, but if a face palm when you tried to say it would slosh everywhere in the back of a car or van, unless you put “the cap on it” come on mate, don’t just make fault because you feel you should.
Funny I have a leaking concrete water tank fed by springs in the woods which I need to repair and I need a pressure washer to blast out the leaking seam before plugging it. Option is to use a generator and 220V pressure washer but this could save a lot of hassle, especially as most mains washers don't come with the filters and stuff included to feed from a bucket and a 220V washer would empty a bucket pretty fast too.
You know what my friend i think this item would be just the thing for the job you mention, like I said tho it's really expensive for just one job, if you lived near me (the North West of England) I'd lend it to you dude!!, Its a good bit of kit and if you had other jobs you could use it for I'd say go for it, I don't think you would be disappointed 🤘🤘
@@UKTOOLTALK Thanks, but S W Wales is a bit far. Actually I am struggling to justify it as I already have 3 x 220v pressure washers. As for cost I saw somewhere that the suction kit for other Makita washers is £89 which is a bit steep but at least you get bundled with this model.
Mmmm I did think about it sir, its taking up allot of space I haven't got!!! It's currently sat under my missus"s computer desk and she's not that happy about it, still I do use it a lttle bit so I'm keeping it for now, thanks for watching and commenting dude 🤘🤘
Mmmm it's OK, if the car is really caked on dirt and dryd it might struggle, if you have 2 fully charged 6 ah batterys it will easily do a mid size car, I use it to wash my car outside my house on the street, I need to get one of those foam cannon nozzly things really they look good 🤘🤘
Oh hi Peter sorry for the late reply, errr I might end up with egg on my face here!!!, I did honestly see the powerwasher with out the box for sale on line buuuut I checked again yesterday and I could not find any for sale without the stupid box!!!! So all I can do is apologise and say keep on looking online, the deal did exist so it might do again 🤘🤘
i think the box is mainly a storage box to keep it tidy and together and if your gonna take it any where 25ltr drums are and also keep your pressure washer in the box its just an added idea for water
Oh hi Russell thanks for your great comment!, yes the big box would be good as a tool box, do you want to buy mine?, I’m in the planning stage to have a set up on a makita trolley with a water container on the bottom and the power washer above it, maybe soon I’ll get on with it!, It might mean that I might actually use the bloody thing instead of it gathering dust!!, many thanks for you input my friend 🤟🤟
Oh hi Tim hope your having a good week!, yes there’s loads and loads of videos on my channel, some crazy but I do try and be a little bit informative if I can, cheers for watching sir 🤟🤟
Oh hi julianne thanks for that lovely comment, yes it’s a very expensive item for sure!!, im actually thinking of selling it!! I never use it and it just sits there gathering dust 🤟🤟
Hi friend, iv looked at some RU-vid reviews of the RYOBI power washer and it looks pretty awesome, I wish I could do a comparison video but I can’t afford to buy the RYOBI just for the test, my makita pressure washer never gets used!,it just sits there mocking me, makita should just have made a 2 xgt 80v power washer I recon, oh well thanks for giving your input sir, maybe makita should stick to power tools 🤟🤟
Hey jon. Ive got this for about a year now. But its driving me nuts as it often doesnt power up sometimes and ive got to connect a faucet to it to “kick start” the power (or deactivate) the safety system. Do update if you have similar issues.
Oh hi friend mmmmmm I’ll look into it, to be honest I never use it and the odd time I do I usually run it off mains, I’ll get it out and see if I can figure out what’s going on 🤟🤟
Now I know why it wouldn't work first, I need to let the air out first. Did not notice this in the user manual...Does yours leak where you attach the hose to the unit? Mine does.
Hi Andras hope your Monday is going ok,did I forget to mention about venting the air out? Can’t remember if so sorry dude, mmmmm leaking connection don’t think mine leaks but to be honest iv only used it twice! It just sits in my workshop staring at me thinking why oh why did you spend £350 on me!!!!,anyway thanks for watching and commenting 🤟🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK Thank you for your reply. You did mention to let the air out first, I was trying to use without doing this and wondered why it wouldn't work so I will have to try it again. I don't know why it leeks though...
Good idea my friend I’ll do that, this bit of kit is outrageous expensive, still I’m glad I bought it,I’m very lucky I was able to buy it (I’m a plumber so I’m doing alright) maybe someone who has a very specific job might find it useful, anyway thanks for watching and commenting 🤟🤟
I never use it, it just sits there gathering dust, tryd it a couple of times on my decking but find it really under powered even hooked up to the mains and it chews through the battery’s so so fast and they get red hot!!, if makita ever bring out a 80v xgt version that might be ok
