Synopsis:
Byomkesh is a bit distracted with a case involving the unscrupulous activities of a debauch. One such day, he goes out on Ajit's insistence and they meet Mohan,one of Ajit's school friends, who is a doctor by profession. The latter shares an interesting event with them and seeks Bakshi's assistance in that particular case. One of his regular patients, Nandalalbabu, has a strange habit of having the spider's fluid which is slowly damaging his health. Since Bakshi is already busy wrecking his brains with another case, he sends his friend cum companion Ajit to Nandalalbabu's place and advises him to observe things well. Despite the strict vigilance of his family members how the fluid reaches the old senile man invariably becomes the biggest question. But Bakshi, the sleuth solves the riddle in no time sitting at home!The postman, who used to deliver Nandalalbabu’s letters every month, turns out to be the culprit here. He used to supply the fluid in the ink container so that no one in the family gets to know. Thus, it also becomes easy for the elderly man to have it sitting at his own bed, without even moving. His tongue turns dark red in colour as a result of recurrent consumption of the fluid.
