I was trying to figure out what to do as a new adult and this young woman wins an event in one of the most stacked events in the games. Good on you kid, keep up the amazing work.
I’ve never watched this sport before but damn sure will start too. Definitely makes you proud watching this and sharing the same last name with the winner. She’s a true warrior spirit
1:56 I would definitely not be dropping the bar and having to clean it back up again if I didn't need to. And Mal definitely didn't need to. She has the engine and strength and clearly knew her game plan. Awesome work!
i think theres actually an argument to be made that holding the bar overhead is actually less fatiguing than putting it down, as if you put it down you have to complete an extra "clean" to get the bar back to position to begin reps, so a little bit short sighted of the announcer to be calling it out so harshly.
Agreed. Locked out in an overhead press with a very submaximal weight is a rest position. Adding more cleans would have drained too much energy for her with her strategy. The announcer's continued advice against her approach was getting pretty old!
@@40yearoldasian whats strange is how the announcer was wrong about everything he said lol and im pretty sure that announcer is Dave Castro, and they were so bias toward Tia it was annoying. Everything Mal did they said wouldnt work lol
@@ryanmolnar6783 I wouldn't say he got everything wrong but he did contradict himself a bit when discussing what Mal can do and then saying she shouldn't pause at the top. And the voice is not @davecastro. Plus I don't think he would say something like that Commentators were ru-vid.comUgkxLYVXw1fDfhqXqIDBuXSvsONwLbuh5kMO
Mal is coming into this season strong, winning the 2022 Open. Check out more videos of her here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C7y4I9UsDao.html
Gotta love when the desk jockey is talking smack about the strategy of the person in the lead...like it clearly is working, and she ended up winning the event smh.
I didn't exclude that she's on gear, I said that she has one in a million genetics (it's not possible to achieve such results with only vitamin s and hard work being 20 sth years old, believe me), I'd wish I had at least half of such genetics in my 20s. 😅
@@gniady You didn't mention it at all lol. The fact of the matter is ALL of Crossfit is on gear. She has terrible genetics btw. Just an average girl that got into crossfit and took drugs to compete. Also crossfit is terrible for looking good/being strong.
@@zerox4434 sorry friend but you are wrong. It is not achievable by an average teenager to compete at this level with only gear and hard work, she's blessed with hell of a genetics to those two things above, probably. ;)
Literally everything the announcers said about Mal was wrong lol. "She is going to burn out resting with her bar over head", "she cant take breaks between the wall walks and the thrusters" lol just watch and color commentate, we dont need your opinions, just facts. They were clearly thinking Tia had this and that the kid couldnt hold her off. Bias from the top of the crossfit games personnel....shocker. Then the interviewer "when youre chasing down the most dominant female" uh....Mal was out front after 9 reps, they were chasing her. The bias here is disgusting.
Only 17 ..she's only gonna get stronger ..2 years..3 max she's gonna be a problem for everyone..Tia is incredible and almost super human for sure and a winning attitude..just saying at 17 your strength isn't even fully there yet...girls gonna deff have a few wins in her future..might be the next Tia if not passed that.
sorry just found it lol works out 61kg a rep jesus I struggle with that at that little 17 year old just kicked my ass well infact all just kicked my ass lol
Did they start PED testing these athletes? I remember watching these a few years ago and the women were so obviously on gear it was almost funny but they look natural here.
The CrossFit Games Drug Testing Policy aims to prevent the use of prohibited substances through rigorous testing. See the full Drug Policy here: games.crossfit.com/drug-policy
@@CrossFitGamesTV yeah right. You can fool the people that don't workout, and even some that do. These guys and girls are geared out so stop the bullshit
Some of the forms were pretty atrocious on those squats..Crosfitt creates nice physiques but it's a funny event as crosfitt athletes are never really ever top actual athletes.
@@imfromthestreets5856 awww says the Kevin who's on here whining like an overstuffed hot dog to start with; love a good projection and " rules for thee, not rules for me" 🤣👍👌 primo
Guys, stop the stupid exercises. Backward handstand. It's completely unrealistic to relate to. When you watch a sport you would like to feel inspired in some way.
Are the girls really allowed to do do push-ups like that? How can they seriously think they’re as strong as men in anything they do? They’re professional athletes and they can’t do push-ups right. That is fucking embarrassing. I wish I didn’t see that.
Where did it say anything about push-ups? I heard them calling them wall walks and unless the event calls for them to do a push-up I’d imagine they’re going to accomplish the task in a way that is as energy efficient as possible. Of course they can do push-ups right but I don’t think that was the task here. I could be wrong though. Also, these women are as strong as and stronger than whole big bunches of men - the average man is undoubtedly stronger than the average woman but these ladies aren’t average.
you’re an idiot and clearly haven’t done crossfit before. they aren’t doing push ups dumbass, they’re doing wall walks. look at the sheer size of their biceps - i’m pretty sure they can pop out a normal push-up with ease.
