SOFIA CARSON “What about the kids we left behind on THAT island”... “you lied to ME”... and “we we’re FAmily” the way she brought out those lines to life OMG IT WAS PERFECT I GOT GOOSEBUMPS😍
8:50 Harry break down his barriers and decided to lower his guard. You can see that he approach Ben with his usual self but then, he suddenly softened to let out the pain he's been trying to suppressed. He's had enough of everything, you can feel the sadness and pain as he uttered those words.
Harry was right. Ben didn't say anything firmly when Mal offered to close the barrier. Mal - There is one exit, we close the barrier permanently Ben is like a little child whose favorite candy has been taken away - Not! - and runs out of the room. Was he vigorously trained to be king before his congratulations at the end of the Descendants? Besides, they were brilliant beasts of the king Ask a traumatized teen what we do when someone steals 2 powerful artifacts. Mal still seems to be doing badly under pressure.
I was low key I thought Evie was gonna slap Mal for closing the barrier 🤣🤣😂 but how Sofia Carson brought out these lines to life “What about the kids that we left behind on the island” “The kids that we promised. We were their only hope. I thought you were going to stand up for the VKs. But instead you lied to them. And you lied to Jay And you lied to Carlos and you lied to me. We’re your family.” Sofia Carson said these lines so sad OMG ITS PERFECT I GOT GOOSEBUMPS
This would’ve been the perfect time for Uma to smack Mal in the face. I’m almost certain the only reason she doesn’t is because this film is targeted towards kids.
Honestly I can understand both sides on one hand mal was doing what she thought was best for Auradon as queen she had to make a tough choice and sacrifice to do what she thought was right especially with belle and beast putting so much pressure on her and on the other hand I can understand why mals friends and allies were mad at her she LIED to their faces the entire time and didn’t tell them the truth till she couldn’t deliver on her promise to the kids back on the island she even lied to the kids back on the isle that they would get to see Auradon both sides are neither right or wrong in this situation
Your right, and with belle and beast trying to put pressure on mal, especially beast in the first movie when he tried to convince ben that the villians commited terrible crimes they are plain evil and can never turn good, yet when he turned good but then abused his power as royalty and married belle convincing and pressuring her to lock the villians on the isle leaving them with nothing. I mean no wonder malefice t didnt know how to learn to love and her and hades relationship woyld have been so mich better and happeir. The evil queen and maleficnet would have been such best friends instead of rivals and enemies. Jafar would finally open his own businesss, cruella would have learned the difference between fake fur and real fur and that she cant have everything according to her will.
Exactly that’s the problem what’s best for auradon she doesn’t care about the vk kids cause when it comes down to it she was gonna pick Ben everytime. What’s the point of making them a promise and then take it away and not have the audacity to explain
thing is... if she would've just explained her choice and never lied, this would've never happened. some people really act like the others don't have a right to be upset at Mal? lol
For everyone saying poor Mal I’m not saying that she deserved this no not at all but Mal kinda asked for her friends to turn on her I mean she made a big decision without telling the VK’s aka her squad and best friends and lied to everyone especially Evie she made a promise that she couldn’t keep and in doing so she lost a possible friendship with Uma because Uma trusted her and all she and her crew wanted was to get off the isle and be welcomed into Auradon Plus the promise Mal made to all the villain kids of the isle was a promise she couldn’t live up to or withhold It’s not Mal I feel sorry for here it’s the VK’s and Uma and her crew because they were lied to and deceived. Not saying that I hate Mal because she did learn from her mistake and apologise to them but still for this moment Mal deserved to lose her friends
The friend who fucked her halfway through the second film. Sorry, but when Mal promised her to bring VK Uma was holding the embers hostage and blackmailing Mal into getting him wet. WHY DOES NO ONE NEVER MENTION THAT THIS WAS AN EMOTIONAL CHANGE AND NOT A FAIR CONTRACT FOR THE WORD OF HONOR. Oi oi It is Evie, not wrinkled anymore, as in 2 Mal said, "now we are Aruadion girls, I gave my mirror to the museum" Ben throws her under the bus! Yes, Mal admitted it was a good idea to close the barrier. But it was Adam, Bella and the Fairy Godmother with their behavior that convinced her that isolation was the best idea so far, especially since her mother's scepter was stolen. "Her family" Except they were the family in the first movie when they were afraid of their parents.
TBH Mal didn't mean to lie about breaking her promise to the villain kids because she didn't want Ben's Kingdom to be taken away from him. I don't blame Evie, Celia & Uma for being angry at Mal because those villains deserve to be in Auradon.
Mail should not have lied to everyone. Sometimes telling the truth is better than to lie and make a promise you can’t keep. Knowing what will happen if you let the grate open.
I'll agree THIS WAS REALLY MESSED UP! I mean she USED and lied to uma and her crew! but if she didnt lie.. I kinda get what shes coming from I mean after she got engaged with ben. everybody got dependent of her and thats ALOT of pressure!! BUT! That doesn't give any excuse like she still used uma and her crew AND THEN expected them to help her also....ALSO I cant when celia threw the ember!😂❤Best part of the scene! But tbh why would they PUNISH the kids for their PARENTS MISTAKES? I always found that odd!
I don't like that Mal lied to her friends in this Descendants movie but I can see both point of views from both Mal and Evie. Mal is soon going to be Queen and she had to make a tough decision, she wanted to protect Auradon and it's people but on Evie's side, she thought Mal would stand up for the VKs and in the first movie they got a chance to become good and they were evil when they first arrived at Auradon and now by the third movie Mal promised all the other VKs that they could have a chance to live a good life in Auradon but lied to them to protect herself. Evie's point was that they got a chance to be good and now the three VKs Evie, Carlos and Jay want the same thing for the VKs left on the Isle, a chance for them to see that good is way more powerful than being evil. Sofia Carson's acting was incredible, her emotional speech to Mal and the way her voice cracked WOW. There were two sides of the coin and neither was right or wrong, Mal thought she was doing something good for Auradon but in a way she was doing something bad for it. But good news is, Mal came around and broke down the barrier so in the end everyone wins!
It wasn't Mal's idea it was Ben's parents' idea. Mal as a royal princess how to make a very difficult choice of decision. She had to act considering the threats that escaped the aisle the first being maleficent. second Uma and third Hades and to top it all off Audrey willingly went to turn herself into a evil villain. because she couldn't let go of her jealousy against Mal and that all of Auradon supported Mal. so with everything Audrey has lost she's going to make all of Auradon pay for betraying her.
@@allison3852 None of us were in the room where all this happened! '' "Maleficent Bertha! What was it that they so scared / seduced you that you sacrificed the island
Mal should have said she had every intention of doing it but it might take her a while to convince bens parents but she would convince them eventually she didn’t have to say she lied just jazzed it up saying it was complicated but she was going to do it
I wrote down this whole seen from when the drama starts 😊 Mal: “I have to tell you guys something. Umm.. I lied to you. The kids won’t be coming off the isle..” Jay: “what do you mean?” Mal: “the program is shut down and the barrier will be closed for good..” Harry: “mmgghg” Ben: “for auradons safety..” Uma: “hold up. So we’re saving your precious people… and your behinds for a lie? I knew it was a mistake to trust you. You’re always out for yourself..” Harry: “and you! King Ben-ay?…you’re probably just gonna throw us back inside..” Celia: “you know what? I actually thought you were brave.. you’re nothing but a chicken. Too scared to tell me I was never gonna see my dad again.” Mal: “Celia… Celia? CELIA! NO!” Evie: “Celia!” Mal: “nO! No… ah! Regain your might and ignite! No.. regain your might and ignite!” Uma: “bummer… let’s go find Gil and leave them all to rot.” Mal: “no- uh.. Uma! Evie… I’m so sorry.. I’m sorry I just- I thought that- I was afraid to tell you! I thought I was gonna lose my best friend but, I had to do something! I had to protect auradon!” Evie: “closing the barrier was idea?” Mal: “I did it for us… I did it for… our life that we have here now!” Evie: “for our life!? What about the kids that we left behind on that island? The kids that WE promised. We were their only hope. I thought you were gonna stand up for the VK’s… but instead you lied to them. And you lied to jay. You lied to Carlos. And you lied to me! We’re your family!” Mal: “Evie… Evie come on! I had no choice! *gasp* no..”

I'm sorry everyone but I agree with Jack, what he says is true: a queen must put the good of the kingdom above friendship because we must see the example of Queen Elizabeth II of England that she had to separate the couple from his sister because he was divorced and he did it for the good of the people since if she married this man, a scandal would be created in the United Kingdom and everything was going to be chaos, so Isabel avoided chaos by separating him. Not everything in the world has a happy ending and the ending of Descendants 3 is a twist in the script so that it would end well if we hadn't had the realistic ending. I'm sorry
That is true in some way, but let's remember Elizabeth is a hypocrite, becaused she separated her sister from a divorced man, but when it was her son, she changed the laws so that Charles could marry his mistress. And Mal didn't have to lie to them, she did it to get their help and save people who despised them just because of their parents's mistakes.
mal was not right, they made it a bigger thing than it had to be. Closing the barrier forever was stupid, and opening the barrier for everyone was also stupid. All they had to do was up the security and open it one last time to let all the kids out, that’s it. Neither of Mal’s decisions made sense in this movie.
Mal not good person D1 she was all about staying with Ben then D2 she didn't know what she wanted D3 she lies to everyone on the island like girl really
Jay and Carlos didn't even get a word in until after they were unstoned and in Audrey's room right? I feel like they would have defended Mal hadn't Audrey stoned them immediately.

Not really, Mal went to far when she literally lied to everybody she knew and trusted. Because of mal if she actually did close off the barrier, like celia said, celia never would of been able to see her father again. And maybe if she knew that prior to her moving then she may not of moved in the same place. Mal messed with the lives of the people she trusted just so that she could feel safe. I respected the hell out of Celia for what she did because she is one of the most natural and realistic characters in the series.
