A reflection of the sunset days of Jacob commissioning his sons to the daunting task of sealing their heavenly promise. In spite of their vile transgressions and vitiated characters, they have their names imprinted on the 12 gates of the city four-square. Why then should you and I let our hopes of inheriting the promise fade because of our archaic traits? Like Reuben, Simeon, Levi and the other faithful characters, we can lay aside our horrid and unfruitful lives of darkness to claim the promise of inheriting the new Jerusalem. Each of us will be let in on an account of overcoming sin and shaping character to the likeness of Christ. Woe unto you, who like Dan, shall let sin reign supreme and shun the power of true repentance. To you, eternal doom awaits.
