This is my Blue Dolphin Tank, (for now). They are Very very slow growing (compared to mbuna's and other African cichlids). My alpha is about 4 - 1/2 years old.
They don't get their hump until about 3years.
The large male is about 7.5inches (lips to tail:)
They are in a 70g tall, and will be / need to be in atleast a hundred to a hundred and fifty gal. in the next year.
They are actually ThaT blue. No filters. Just iPhone.

they look great, slow growth can b frustrating but at the same time I can appreciate getting it here slowly but surely, cool vid👍👍👍

Also you can go back and look at him in my older videos on my other channel and you can see how tiny he was when I got him he used to swim inside the olive oil bottle I used to feed my eels when I first got him.

They look good man they actually can grow a lot faster than that if you had them in a bigger tank I've had mine for 6 months and he is in a 6 foot tank and he was barely over 1 inch when I got him and he is already over 5 inches. You can see him in my stocking list video...

Absolutely - thank you. Iv got a 6foot 200gal going in, for these guys & some others. It's just been a pain since moving down south - my house is a single floor, I guess u call it a ranch style, anyway the stringers supports need to have jacks set under them first to support the weight in the dining room it's going in. I'll post vid when I can. These guys have doubled in size already.

I have a question. I have a 100 gallon tank. Today bought three dolphin cichlids about 6 inches size. I don't know if they are males or females because I found such size after a great struggle from a store who got this for me. My existing one small dolphin went crazy and started to pick on new large dolphins as soon as I introduced them in tank. I removed the small dolphin for now in a bucket. Shall I give her time out and introduce her back to tank after few days? If yes then for how many days time out usually works? Also is it ok to have yellow labs with them? I have yellow labs and so far they aren't going after dolphins but I need to make sure if they are compatible. One last thing, for how long can I keep the news three 6 inches dolphins in my 100 gallon? Please reply. Sorry for so many questions. Thanks.

No prob, Yes yellow labs arenn’t nearly as aggressive as most Mbuna type African cichlids, so they aren’t a bad choice for tank mates with the Moori Blie Dolphin, their actually a good choice, (but like with any fish tank you still need to keep a close eye on anything being added) As far as male / female it’s almost impossible to tell at the size yours are, And being as fragile as the Blue’s are it doesn’t take much stress from another fish picking on’m / chasing’m to kill them, The koc on the males head is the only real way to tell male or female. How's the dolphins now? I got one in a 50gallon tank with a Hap, peacock and sulphur head.

thanks bud. As far as the water looking invisible - it's no trick.. I've got a 370gal pr hr. Canister & UV sterilizer- And a XL aquein (misapelled i kno) piggy back filter. I like to run atleast triple the amount of filtration then is suggested.
