MALAWI UK cook Sophie Grigson visits the country to meet farmers trying out new innovations 

This harvest in Malawi has been the worst for decades. Cyclone Freddy destroyed many crops and flooded land, followed by a long and extended drought.
UK cook Sophie Grigson went to Malawi to meet one young farmer called Jenifer who with support from an IFAD funded project was able to still feed her family thanks to small innovations like a backyard garden and a simple eco friendly cooking stove.
The IFAD-supported project Transforming Agriculture through Diversification and Entrepreneurship Programme, or TRADE is supporting farmers to find new ways to tackling climate change, in addition to improving their nutrition and resilience to future shocks.
