Malawian farmers demonstrate how to make low cost fertilizer 

Watch a group of Malawian farmers I worked with in 2016 demonstrating how to make own fertilizer, locally known as Mbeya Fertilizer, at low cost through a combination of small doses of mineral fertilizer and readily available organic materials. The technology addresses the challenge of high costs of mineral fertilizer against the decline in soil fertility experienced by the majority of Malawian farmers.
