Going to sipadan requires permits. Limited to about 200 divers a day. So people dive at mabul or a dive rig nearby to wait for their turn to dive at sipadan. Again sipadan has a military post with machine-gun mounted on sandbags.

Hiker here. The ropes serve many purposes. People use them to pull themselves up, if they need to. However. It’s main purpose is to keep the footprint low within the trail itself and not creating unnecessary or bigger path. Or for safety to cordon a steep slope. Another important use is when the trail gets slippery on your way down, or during heavy downpour that it creates slippery mud or stream of gushing water on trail (water prefers to use less resistance path to travel down too!). The ropes are life savers as you go down under those conditions. Especially, as I saw in the vid not many of them are wearing proper hiking shoes with lugs.

I think that's the first time I've seen you in glasses, M. There are a lot of motorcycle travel video channels, but yours and Noraly's are two I never miss. My dad worked in Sulawesi decades ago, the Indonesian gov't would not let me go there because I was 18, so no longer a dependent, but was not qualified to do the work on the hydro-electric dam and a copper/nickel project Bechtel Corporation was doing. My compliments to M who in the early video's seemed a bit camera-shy, and look at you now! You go girl!

Superb nice view.. I think the garbage accidentally left by the Pala'uh@Bajau laut tribe who live at the sea on that area. Them live in the boat and some from their tribe built houses in the middle of the sea. You can find them around near Pulau Sibangkat,Pulau Tatagan in Semporna. Sometimes they go to the jetty around Sandakan,Lahad Datu,Tawau and Semporna to buy daily goods and their children ask for money from the public then go back to the sea again. They have no citizenship and freely to cross the seas of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Hi Hi, if you have limited time there, just stay 2 Day, 1 night at any of the resort island out in the sea (i.e. Mabul, Kapalai etc) and u can have unlimited time snorkel without any diving permit restriction. (No permit needed for snorkeling)

To people who watch this video and read the comments. Bohey Dulang means: Bohey (Bajau Semporna language) = Water Dulang (Malay language) = Tray And corrections to those people who said Sabah is a state in Malaysia. Sabah & Sarawak is not a state in Malaysia. We're (Sabah & Sarawak) a country with our own immigration rules and so on. That's why people who are from Tanah Melayu (Peninsula Malaysia) can only stay in Sabah & Sarawak for 90 days using Malaysia MyKad (identity card) and require a passport if they want to live longer than 90 days in both Sabah & Sarawak. I hope this will clear the matters. As most of all of us are in Malaysia. We've been brain washed by false lies in Malaysia education (History) in schools.

Next island, Sibuan. Yes military post was setup there for security reason. However, the sand bar there may have garbage again. ESSCOM was setup to protect locals and tourists.
