Challenging questions tamed by very comprehensive answers by RR showcasing Malaysia's financial focus and new economic strategies while at the same time letting the audience know just how strategic Malaysia is in terms of geography, culture and trade routes.
A Bloomberg LIVE interview, the scope of questions were very wide, some answers were good, some were excellent. Good job, he did not make a fool of himself and embarrass the country. Well done RR ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👍👍👏👏
PH and BN is the only government (I REPEAT) the only way for Malaysia to progress to become not just a high income nation but even a technologically advanced fully developed country. With this, Malaysia can hit US$20,000 GDP per capita in 5-6 years time.
I truly hope so, and appreciate if anyone could highlight RR's direct contribution? Exclude commodity price fluctuations for o&g and CPO. I hear a lot of rhetoric in his speech, I almost thot he is the environmental minister.
So true! I can’t imagine having politicians from the opposition to lead malaysia and be in the same position as RR to speak publicly on an international event 😅

@@delamalasie You do realize what happens to the USD when US fed raises their rates right? You do also realize that our OPR also needs to be raised so that the MYR doesnt further devalue and cause import inflation, right? Also, do you realize that Rafizi has no say over bank Negara policies right? No one in the executive nor cabinet has a say. BNM is independent. What he can talk about is structural reforms which are very long term economic measures. This is what he spoke of in this video. If your answer is no to the above statements, then stop trying to act smart when the truth is you are just whiny and ignorant. Typical avg mesian voter, all ya'll do is just complain. Then accuse ppl of being paid by PH lol. Go educate urself instead.
This interview inspired me to work hard for my career. Somehow i feel this nation is in great hands when we have ministers like this to work for us. Thank you.

@@a_min60yes, experiences from his job before he was a minister, you can see that he is knowledgeable in economics in the way he answers. So what 7 months, he was not born 7 months ago.
@@a_min60 well RR is a chartered accountant by qualification and work experience. I am sure that the breadth of his experience in finance and economics matters dwarfs yours by a mile.

RR is a better choice to represent Malaysia in next year Davos World Economics Forum , he knows the subject matter better and articulate in the presentation. No over promises and sugar coated words.
Rafizi Ramli has done a superb job on this interview on the world-stage such as this Qatar Economic Forum, responding very well to all interview questions and explaining Malaysia's trade and economic policies and implementation approach. Hope Malaysia's economy will continue to growth strategically and significantly, led by the new unity government driven by more capable leaders such as RR! Syabas!
Malaysia economy shall survive in the coming turbulent world because we largely produce products and services beneficial to societies. Should consider also to not using US Dollar in future trading.
Wait- so every govt. ministers must care not to disappoint huaren East Asian from faraway Zhunguo but it's okay to make the Malay Southeast Asian natives masses angry in this Southeast Asian country? No wonder Malaysia will forever be unstable and change of govt. will frequently happen like tug-of-war till a Malay dominant party dominates the MPs and govt. seats composition. Yee, we all know that Malaysia is like a ticking bomb, waiting for the right time for the revolution of a nation native dominant race to occur

Since Penang already contributed so much in semiconductor industry, the federal gov seriously need to pump more resources in Penang so that Penang can move up our value chain to fabrication with the strong foundation of semiconductor industry at Penang in the past 50 years.

Headline and core inflation between 2.8% and 3.8% Bank Negara said it expects headline and core inflation to average between 2.8% and 3.8% in 2023. On the current account, BNM noted that a sustained surplus of 2.5% to 3.5% of GDP is expected in 2023 due to a sustained surplus in goods and a narrowing deficit in the services account. On the other hand, BNM governor Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah said BNM has been focusing its policy response on managing risks that could undermine the long-term health of the economy and the well-being of the people. She said BNM will also continue to ensure that the financial sector remains a source of strength for the Malaysian economy. Community Verified icon

Only Rafizi and Anwar were able to take on tough questions from Haslinda with such confidence and persuasion. Don't think any PN politicians be able to take that.. or they may not want to be on stage at all.. or they may embarrass the country's name.
Malaysia's economy expand by 14.2 per cent as compared to 8.9 per cent in the second quarter of 2022...and first quarter 2023 only 5.6 per cent..😁...Very smart formula minister you got there...
Energy transition will become a dead weight to our development. Just read Alberta, Canada has just put a moratorium on their energy transition plan because they suddenly realised a lot of adversed consequences and the government will now do a proper cost benefit analysis. Rafixi ada buat tak cost benefit analysis?
there is no real substance to his answers. he is just dropping intelligent sounding sound bites. on RE, Malaysia's RE capacity is very small (pale in comparison to Vietnam and Thailand). I am not sure if he really knows what he is talking about.
I'm sure you will do a better job, right keyboard warrior? I know people like you who comment just because of two reasons. Firstly, you just want the attention because being dramatic although squarely false gets unnecessary attention. Secondly, you always think there's a better person for the job (Maybe even including yourself) but, deep inside you know there's no one else capable on the other side, in fact far far from it, more like a total disaster in the making.

Don't be too optimistic. Yes we will progress but there's huge hurdles like our massive debt that needs to be serviced. Previous governments were addicted to borrowing.

As soon as Anwar went to China and spoke about setting up a Asian Monetary Fund, the ringgit plunged vs the US Dollar. This is to be expected. That is why Malaysia should slowly distance itself from the US Dollar and encourage trading using regional currencies. If BRICS creates a new currency backed by gold, we should get on board. We must get away from the USD, which is back by absolutely nothing.
On an overall basis, ease of doing business and less corruption would be good for FDI. Anyway energy costs should be compared with our near competitors and I believe our rates are still very competitive.
