Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is a small gallery where you can learn more about Kuala Lumpur's history and architecture.
This building is currently owned by ARCH, a major Malaysian model manufacturing company, and is a gallery that recreates Kuala Lumpur's historical materials, city areas, and buildings in miniature. It also has a cafe and shop, making it a popular tourist spot.
Built in 1898, this colonial building is part of the historic architecture around Merdeka Square and will be 125 years old in 2023. This historic building was originally used as the government printing office.
The large "I♡KL" monument on the side of the building is a landmark of Kuala Lumpur City Gallery and a popular photo spot for tourists. The "I LOVE KL" object at the entrance of KL City Gallery is also a very popular spot for commemorative photos. These days, there are often lines of people waiting to take photos.
KL City Gallery is run by ARCH, a shop that sells wooden crafts and building models, and is basically a gallery that displays ARCH's works. There is also a huge diorama on display that recreates the cityscape of Kuala Lumpur. The diorama is also equipped with projection mapping, allowing you to enjoy an impressive show.
There is also a corner where you can watch how products are made through glass, and a souvenir shop where you can purchase ARCH products. Our souvenirs range from price ranges that are perfect for giving away as souvenirs, to small items and sweets. There is also an ``ARCH CAFE'' inside the souvenir shop, which is the perfect place to rest your tired feet. The green durian cake is especially known as a specialty.
KL City Gallery also has an exhibition corner that introduces historical buildings in and around Kuala Lumpur, as well as a panel corner where you can take Instagram-worthy photos. In the panel corner, there are panels that say "I LOVE KL" and panels that allow you to become an angel with unusual wings, which are also loved by many people.
The KL City Gallery building is a valuable historical building that was built in 1898 as a government printing press during the British colonial period. It is a 10-minute walk from Masjid Jamek LRT Ampang Line/Sri Petaling Line and is located on the south side of Merdeka Square.
