All work & no play makes Minah a dull girl. Lighten up.....Get a life...
Have fun. Enjoy! Work hard. Party hard.
Make the best of your student days. Once you have a career & start a family, that's it.
Malaysian students including conservative ones should enjoy their university days.
Stop being a party pooper or miseryguts or spoil sport.
Source: Sent by someone from reddit.
NB: This video was made to counter the views presented in the video that has allegedly been made by the young lady above.
My video was made in good faith to quash the increasing intolerant views of rising and alarming numbers of Malaysian youth.
It is also an attempt to open up conservative intolerant minds.
The video allegedly made by the young lady is a small reflection of the wider intolerance that is being experienced by all Malaysians at home.
I have no idea who she is but her views are very disturbing.

Pub and Club are different, Pub where you socialize with a bar and bartender, you can order non alcoholic drinks and socialize, where is club is where you get drunk and dance at loud music.. You can't have discussion in a club due to the loud music. If you are don't drinks then you got no business to be in the club. What should you go there, sit there and watch other people dance while drinking soda for 3 hours?

That's the most sensible and practical way to choose for an educated young adult in a foreign country or in her own. I’m as old as Malaysia. It is so scary to listen to the voice of this young Malaysian in particular. If that’s the underlining tone, Malaysia is heading to an even scary path of extremism. Young generation heading towards extremism instead of progressiveness. Those who are easily scared by their own shadows. With the former, I see imagery of Afghanistan where girls are not allowed education. Respect the original spirit of Merdeka and formation of Malaysia. Yes, it took the combined effort different ethnicities to convince the British. Cherish our independence of a new plural nation forged out of the harmony of people of different races. Don’t allow selfish politicians to tell you differently. Don’t take it for granted. Young ones, choose and tread wisely.

I had the pleasure of "stepping out" with a Malaysian woman some years ago. Not only was she extremely beautiful (I was clearly punching above my weight!), but she enjoyed going out, partying and "clubbing" until the early hours. There is a difference between the young lady in the video here and the woman I knew. My girl-friend was Catholic, obviously Christian. In this video, one can encapsulate the attitude of Islam in a very short time. Not only do Muslims not enjoy more liberal habits (and there is nothing wrong with that - I am not here to dictate to them), but they also wish to impose their ideas on those who are not of the same mind. Therein lies the problem. If I was more vulgar, I could say, "If they don't like it, they can push off somewhere else!" The narrator here is absolutely correct and has common sense.

Their religious brain washing started early in primary schools when the religious studies were introduced in mainstream curriculum due to the strong influence of Ulamaks after the Islamic Revolution of Iran. The UMNO govt and the PAS opposition were battling it out to outdo each others in term of religious fervour. The result is what we see in today's breed of closed minded students.

I always encourage people who are younger than me, regardless of race and religion, go and explore outside world and you'd gain a lot provided you mingle and not just living under a rock or befriend with your own kind. None of the religions encourage us to imbibe alcohol, we are living in a free world and it's our call whether to drink or not to drink as long as it doesn't harm others. Why cant they choose a nuetral after party THEN move on later to the nightclub. Like the koreans do. Move from one joint to another.

Mariam, this is your best yet. And you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. Let me tell you about Malay Muslims who were sent to UK after a few years of teaching. 1. These Malay Muslims only had Form Five qualifications. All the rest had a degree + a further year of education. We were all teaching ENGLISH Language. 2. These Malay Muslims were sent to Leeds, York - to get their MASTERS degree !! You're talking about from Form Five straight to MASTERS !! 3. Off they went - to UK for their MASTERS degree. It was a one year course but I believe they has to take some special classes so they were there for two years ( there was a group of them ). 4. They came back and were immediately given the post of Lecturers. From drawing a Form Five pay check to a Lecturers pay check !! We became friends - in fact they became very good friends with me. And they told me exactly what happened in UK. When in UK - they lived in a "kampung" - all Malay Muslim community with Hari Raya celebrations - rendang, ketupat and all. They never ventured outside their comfort zone. Never mingled with the locals. The sad part is - they came back speaking the same horrible English. I'm not talking about accent. The grammar was as bad as when they left - same with pronunciation. What is even sadder is that they thought they spoke excellent English. They will always be asking me for help - how to set questions, clean up their grammatical errors and anything to do with teaching of English. Now, I was just a Language teacher and they were LECTURERS ( supposed to be more qualified than me ) but they were so dependent on my help. It's not their fault that they were pushed to UK. They were ( of course ) very nice to me. One of them knew that he was not qualified to teach English but the other thought he was a Linguist. Masters degree - the COLD IRON woman in charge of the Faculty gave an order that I could not continue with my Masters programme which I was doing as a part time student - just because she felt embarrassed that she could not answer my question at a conference held. But that's another story. The Faculty was infested with politics.

Like you, Mariam, I used to enjoy socializing and partying during my younger days. Many Malays, men and women also attended and there was much mingling and socializing among the attendees from all races. The question of ethnicity and religious beliefs never surfaced and we were there to make friends and enjoy the companionship of each other. Our hosts or organizers were sensitive enough not to serve alcoholic drinks and non-halal food whenever they knew that there would be Muslim guests attending. Fast forward to today, in the last two reunion gatherings we had in the last few years, I noticed there was a change in the attitudes of these old friends. They no longer sat at the same tables with their old friends from other races. While my non-Malay friends had no qualms about sitting with whoever attended the gatherings I noticed that my former Malay schoolmates and/or friends sat among themselves and rarely spoke to their non-Malay schoolmates and/or friends. Of course, there were a few exceptions where my more 'liberal' Malay friends would mingle among all the attendees but a vast majority of them would talk, laugh, and make silly jokes among themselves at a few tables away from the rest. It upset me to see how things have changed after over 30 years. How do the same group of friends who were color-blind when we were young now keep their distance from others who are of different ethnicity? What changed them over the years? What that Malay girl said on social media has become something that I have come to expect. Wahhabism has crept into Malaysia, brought in by our students who studied in the Middle East and were appealed by the teachings (or shall I say ideology) and decided to import back for our local consumption. This is more so when our Muslim scholars (or ulama) and preachers who graduated from Middle Eastern universities begin to teach and expand Wahhabism in Malaysia. Remember, Wahhabism restricts dissent, and Muslims are not allowed to question what is being preached by Wahhabists, that questioning their teachers (ustaz and ustazah) is tantamount to heresy. The trend towards Islamic conservatism will continue and may become more ingrained in our Muslim society and dissenting voices like yours and mine will become a minority and we will be branded as 'liberals' and maybe even anti-Islam. We will be scolded, heckled, cursed, and maybe even threatened and deemed as 'enemies of Islam'. Even Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim who for so long been branding himself as a reformist and a centrist has begun to buckle from this enormous pressure from the conservatives and begins to move towards the right.

Plus sufi militan such al maunah also follow sufi tariqah. The old people in pondok preaching closed mindset. Wahabi allows everyone to be criticised. The Gurus are not infallible and can be anytime not to be followed unlike the ashaari sufis that bootlicked their teachers. Plus most secual cases involves sufi ashaari pondoks and maahad tahfiz. The political parties have played the racial divide card since decades or more, blaming other races for the shortcomings and indolence of the malays. This has led to the division of the people and the path of disaster. Malaysia was built with and from the combined efforts of all the people, however they wish to deny the facts.
@razaliabubakar6390
@razaliabubakar6390 7 месяцев назад
@@Mar-enfrance political parties are not denying the facts as these facts have been known for decades. They are merely playing up the 3R for political expediency. They realize they have failed the people but still want to stay in power. Hence, they borrow a chapter from the former colonials to hold on to power, that is to divide and rule. Malays in general are complacent, emotional, easily influenced, and easily forget. They are playing to the sentiment of the Malays, knowing full well that the Malays are most concerned with their status as Bumiputera and their religion of Islam. Thus, by playing the 3R card they attempt to secure the Malays as their vote bank since the Malay voters constitute the majority. To a large extent, this strategy succeeded. Other Malay-based parties do not want to be left out and play together, turning it into an acceptable narrative. The ones that are left behind are the non-Malays which include the Chinese, the Indian, and the Bumiputera of East Malaysia who are mostly Christians.

The idea of PAS is turn Malaysia into Iran and you can bet your bottom dollar that would mean curtailing the many freedoms of non Muslims. I stopped following her. When she said things like this, other people might be afraid to interact with her again, afraid that she went to drama again with a small thing. This could lead to a boycott, which is not surprising. When I asked those who boycotts, they said is to show their hates and discomfort towards the country that attacked the group. I said to them this is non of our business in Malaysia as we shall take care of ourselves rather than hurt our own people. Boycotting that brand is giving a hard time to those employees. But what I get back is the answer of those employees can go to other company or even start to sell nasi lemak at road side. From my point of view, why not those people who boycotting can now fly over to that territory and help fighting against that country. They can be proud to die for that event. I strongly believe they won't. As is going to harm themselves. But when those boycotting people harm others with their action is always OK with thousands of explanation. What about those headphones, apps and households that own by that country? They said whatever bought, we can just use it. Whatever not buying yet, we should boycott. What an explanation it is.

This rising conservatism all started when more Muslims further their study in countries like Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia where Islamic fundamentalism is rampant even in some institutions, some of our Muslims later got radicalized there by who knows how many radical scholars or professors of these religious study courses and etc. Most of the ulamas who have studied there brought back the radical form of Islam back into Malaysia and then decades later leading up to the present 21st century. Why do you think that Muslims mindset in the old days are different than now?

There rented a room in one of the house rented by the Muslim organisation there which convert it into a mosque for praying. Went to visit them one day in their room. Initially they we reluctant to open the door. After, they recognise my voice, they open the door. Inside they were 2 package & they having "Char Siew " rice" & r enjoying it heartedly. She is totally selfish because if "I dont drink and partying you must not as well" attitude ! So what Mariam describe her is correct saperti katak di bawah tempurong worst still disregard for other peoples practices and freedom of choice. I always believe if you think the event does not equate to your believe and practices DONT JOIN IN period but dont selfishly stop others as well. First of all, she gave her opinion. She has a right to give her opinion. She didn't resort to name-calling, ridicule or shaming, like what you are doing. If you don't agree, just agree to disagree. The language you use is shameful and disrespectful. Asking people to go back into 'tempurung' or study in middle eastern countries just because she stated her opinion on a matter relating to her is so appalling. You're like the school girl bully that ridicule the bright girl in class because you think she'd ruin your happy hour time by telling the teacher. What if i disagree with you by asking you to boozed up all night, wear tight fitting clothes and go stay in your lovely foreign country? On second thought, maybe you'd be okay with that.

Lack of confidence is to have feelings of low self-worth. They are preoccupied with their weaknesses, and lack faith in the God ability to use those weaknesses for her good. We do not understand our inestimable worth in the eyes of God, nor do we appreciate our divine potential. Ironically, both pride and a lack of self-confidence cause us to focus excessively on ourselves and to deny the power of God in our lives is a disaster waiting to come.

You are absolutely right Madam. I remember when I studied abroad, I was labelled as the “budak sosial” just because I mingled with other foreigners because I felt that was the only oportunities for me to be friends with people from other culture/religion/nations. As compared to them, they rather stayed in one building and sometimes did not even mingle with other foreigners except only going to the classes. But this “budak sosial” every semester would get dean list, and every year was listed if not top 3 or 5 in our faculty. 😅 Some of my fellow Malaysians, I think were getting radicalised by certain political party. I remember many times this political party of the “youth wings” came all the way from Malaysia for a visit and then to stay at my fellow Malaysian’s dormitory illegally. They started doing usrah. Which was not an issue i think because they can practice whatever they want as long as in moderation. And then started to ponteng certain days for travelling to other places to do their usrah. Until the embassy found out, the officer from the embassy gave them stern warnings (because as a fully funded students, their job is to study and not to other things besides studying). Quote on quote “korang nak belajar ke nak berpolitik?” It was to the point that some of them almost got expelled from the uni for not passing/fulfilling the requirement to graduate, but eventually the faculty did help them to graduate on time.

The advice is only beneficial to those believe in the existence of Allah and retribution in hereafter. Yes, we understand that the good practice of religion is just something that inhibits the joy of life in the world. Let us be, because we prefer the long lasting merry in the hereafter over something temporary in this world. Peace and blessing unto those who follow the sunnah and the guidance of Al Quran.
