This is a quick rundown about a post sample Styer Aug M3 converted to auto using a Malaysian parts kit. #556 #556nato #556x45 #diy #msr #alaska #ffl #sot #nfa
In Malaysia we started getting Augs in the late 80s and got license from Steyr to produce the Aug but after lawsuits between Steyr and SME ordnance (the Malaysian company that produced the Aug) we stopped production We were supposed to replace the M16a1 rifles we adopted in the 70s with the Aug but after the lawsuit we instead replaced it with the M4a1
@@Fusil_priming_llc Yeah, it's the main service rifle for the army for about two decades. However, basic training for the Malaysian Army uses M16A1s, so they had to relearn how to shoot on an entirely different platform. Therefore, with the lawsuits and the fact that quality control of the later production AUGs were not great, and the fact that it makes for sense, the switch to the M4A1 was made in 2006 to 2008.
Because of this we owe to much to the American ...I prefer Malaysian produce their own gun rather than adopting a gun from a country that keeps bullying another small Islamic country
So could anyone just buy a normal civilian Aug and put that upper onto the Aug parts kit and commit a felony or is there other things that it’s missing? And where would one get these other things just so I know where to stay away from
