As a former trumpet player who is now on the "other side" of the glass, I was always thrilled to see Malcolm on the date. No matter what type of score we were doing, his style, tone and tuning were always exactly right. A real pleasure for me to hear.
I learned a lot by his simple advice about, how to warm up again with tired lips and about going from pitch centre to pitch centre. And the most important thing is how to go off a note. All good info. I came down with covid and didn't play for nearly four weeks. I played for the first time three days ago. I knew my lips wouldn't do well. My husband said it sounded good, but it didn't last long at all. I have to work up again. When I practice, I often practice three hours. But now I am set backwards. I hate being out of shape, especially coming up on to Christmas.
Thanks for a great video. Would you mind if I take some parts of it and translate? I'd love to share some of his wisdom to fellow Korean trumpet players. This is not for profit and credit + link will be addressed of course.
