This was Absolutely Amazing Masterpiece Tribute for My Third Favorite Villain on Arrow. The Song Hurricane describes Malcolm Meryln’s Path he has chosen and The Darkness That slowly consumes him ridding him of all The Good in him. Malcolm Meryln is definitely one of the most tragic Antagonists in The Arrowverse a Fantastic Character played wonderfully by John Barrowman.

Interestingly, Nyssa was more mature than he proved to be; by destroying the ring of the demon's head; their own rendition of the "Ring of Power" from "Lord of the Rings", or something akin to that- she walked away from a terrible addiction, the same addiction that claimed the very soul of Khan N. Singh in Star Trek: that of becoming world-dictator- and also was historically used to tempt Christ Jesus Himself as well: that of ruling the world by allowing the very devil itself- the head demon, to work for you... but that choice ultimately corrupts all that take it, for whatsoever the reason. In destroying the ring, she walked away from that kind of corrupted lifestyle- few addicts have that kind of internal strength, and only those that forever refuse any involvement in corruption avoid addiction to that particular evil. That shows how strong his "god-daughter-in-law" was: the ability to walk away from addiction is indeed rare, and she grew up connected to it, plus her destruction of the magical hot tub is another element of personal strength: it shows a will that will not submit to the slavery to addiction, no matter how strong the addiction makes the addict it is not worth it... I get why exactly he'd make that choice, but it still wasn't safe to make, ever.
