The _real_ problem isnt that they are stupid, its that people _believe_ politicians are stupid and not just pretending to be stupid to mask the fact that every "mistake" of theirs is actually intentional. Because every fuckup of theirs eventually involves the tax payer needing to pay more taxes and give up more freedom. All while these "stupid" people in office get pay raises and more power over the little people. If they really are stupid, then theyve been damn lucky for many, _many_ decades as they seem to be the only ones benefiting from any of it. And even if they manage to actually "get in trouble", nothing is actually done about it other than they get to retire off grid and live the rest of their lives in private luxury on the peoples dime. Meanwhile, if _we_ were to do even a sliver of the things theyve done, we would be serving multiple life sentences, AND they would dedicate a few days every year towards reminding the whole world of the horrible things we had done.

This is definitely funny. It is considered dark humour with how realistic this hits home to how incompetent politicians are in nature and how things run behind the curtain. The humour comes from the characters and the clashes they consistently undergo in each scenario.
