This would force India to spend billions on defense upgrades in places like Lakshadweep and Minicoy, which could be avoided through smarter diplomacy. Instead of letting the Maldives fall into China's trap, India should focus on strengthening its ties through economic aid, cultural exchanges, and strategic infrastructure investments. This way, the Maldives can remain independent but have a strong, friendly relationship with India. It’s much cheaper and smarter to invest in diplomacy and development now than to bear the cost of military escalation later!"
