My wife and I flew on this Dash 8 from Male down to the Maldives. Everything was fun except the first row of seats faces backwards, so there is little legroom and the seats are too upright. The other seats are fine though. This plane was like a flying sports car. The engines roar the plane starts to move and wow up you go like a kite. We spent a wonderful week at The Residence. 5 stars all the way. The people were always happy and helpful. The atoll is beautiful and there is a variety of restaurants. If you are athletic, you can do snorkeling and scuba. I really liked the travel arrangements, including the little speedboats seen at :40 which ferry you from the Maldives to the airport. The speedboats are enclosed so you are not bothered by bow wave splashes or rain. You do need to pay attention to the rainy season in this area.
Great, sounds like you had a lovely time. The Residence Maldives is on my visit list - they have 2 Resorts next door to each other now. I've never been to the Atoll The Residence is on, though I will soon - Park Hyatt and Raffles on same Atoll. As for the plane, I agree (though I think they make have changed the seating arrangements), it seems very responsive. The Pilot did a turnaround when we were coming to land Male (can just see a clip on video) and the up/down faster/slower feel on the Plane...
