Male Cardinal feeding Female 

Birds understand how to be a good husband.

That's such a sweet ritual to have him feed his mate!! 🐦💗

I live in the middle of the woods and feed the wildlife every day. Including several families of cardinals. One in particular I “knew” as a baby, he has two pink feathers on his back. I named him Pinky lol. He comes to me when I call him and will at times even bring his baby. He lands on my deck railing and chirps at me until I give him food. Any way watching him feed his wifey and kids is almost an everyday activity for me. I love that he trusts me.

Many birds exhibit this kind of behavior, and in some species the female can be quite demanding about being fed. I saw a pair of ducks that lived at a friend's house where there was a big dog chained to his dog house. They stood right at the limit of the chain - as you could see by the path the dog had worn in the yard walking back and forth. The dog was asleep in the doghouse, and the female duck was talking very insistently to the male: "mep mep mep!" The male was wobbling side to side putting his weight on his left leg then his right looking at the dish of dog food next to the doghouse. Suddenly, he took a kamakaze run at the dog food dish and grabbed a piece of dog food. He ran back as fast as his little legs would take him, and laid the piece of dog food right at his lady's feet. She ate the piece of dog food and looked at him like, "Are you still here?" and started talking again: "mep mep mep mep!" He did his little nervous dance again and ran to get his girl another piece of that delicious dog food.

My dad throws food by our front door for a cardinal. He would fly down, make sure its safe then fly back up to the tree. Soon after he comes back with a female so she can eat.

Saw them doing this on my porch today. I thought I was loosing my mind!,, turned out they actually do this. Sooo adorable

This is SO sweet! I got the chance to see a male do this for the female once, they were on a tree branch. ❤❤❤

Marvelous example in nature, he must prove he can feed her when she is in their nest and help her feeding their creatures. Example to be followed, with less abandoned mother and children.

I have a bird feeder that is an open dish (ironically, the squirrels will leave those alone but will go after anything that's even remotely covered). It's very common to see male cardinals feeding female cardinals. It's very adorable. I know the sound of a cardinal, so I usually go to the window to see if they're eating.

At my bird feeder I always expect the male to come down first, and make sure things are safe before he calls the female to join him. Very endearing.

Awww... How majestically sweet! Cardinals sing to me almost every day~ I have read they mate for life, thats the one thing that would make life worth loving.. Having a TRUE ETERNAL partner to share it with!

Male Cardinals are very sweet & make great fathers,,they will even help feed the young,,,mom & dad share in raising there young,,🐦🐦🐦🐦

I'm so lucky to see this about every day. I will open the window make a call, and many times they will show up landing on my fence (male), who patiently waits for me to toss unsalted shelled roasted peanuts. Female will show up on her own at times, but usually not, and then proceeds to be fed by the male. Love the belief that Cardinals showing up at your home are loved ones who have passed away... I find this comforting, even if just a folktale.

Aw so sweet c: there's a cardinal couple that comes by my house every day for sunflower seeds, I call them the otp, and I see them do this and always say "aw they kiss" xD they're so adorable
