Some Person Good for you, you don't experience pain but some people do. Periods are not always pain free, cramps are contractions to help get the blood out, all girls don't exaggerate things, I'm just stating a fact which is they didn't experience pain

I have an great-aunt who has never had pain during period, while most other people have pain that makes them want to do nothing all day. But then there are people like me who sometimes have period pains so bad that I will throw up from the pain. I have to be careful about taking pain meds before the pain gets too bad and taking more on time to avoid the pain coming back. Periods are different for everyone, but I do think to get the full feel of a period those guys needed to experience some level of pain

I wish it were this easy. Some women have very heavy bleeding. And besides the obvious cramps and emotional effects that come with the hormonal changes, try dealing with insomnia, weakness, dizziness, pms, headaches, all the energy that goes into your body preparing for a potential baby, and then recovering from it.

Not for me I bleed heavily and have clots. Filled and about went through an overnight pad in an hour. Last month bleed 24 days. My legs became weak and shaky I was scared.

For some people, the bleeding might not be the worst part of it, but when your period is so heavy that you overflow a regular pad in about 4 hours, you have to change the way you sleep so you don't bleed all over your pants and the sheets, and standing up gives you intense anxiety because you're not sure if you're going to overflow the pad, the bleeding *is* the worst part of it.

I know what you are talking about! I am a heavy bleeder too! Sitting is better, laying down is risky because when you do get up, and standing and walking not recommended. Worst day I can remember I used about nine pads and leaked five of those times once onto the floor..fortunatly it was a tile floor and not the carpeted room I had just exited. Now days I have my period almost all month. I had two really bad days in a row that almost sent me to the ER. Fun times for me I guess. I don't cramp often but when I do. Just shoot me. ....p.s. sorry for the T.M.I. it was way worse and I toned it down....a teeny tiny bit.

Siofra Hanley I wear disposable underwear like Depends or Always Discreet that seem to help with heavy periods. I however have the high risk of menorrhagia-metorrphaigia and ovarian cyst that can cause heavy bleeding or prolonged bleeding.

I am a man who experienced real periods for 12 years of my life---cramping, bloating, PMS, bleeding---all of it. My periods were very, very painful and lasted and lasted for a week to 10 day on average. I am a trangender man. I still experience some aspects, but testosterone has completely stopped the bleeding. I am especially understanding of what my girlfriends go through.

If they do that they better hope that it doesn't get cranked up to the level of my cramps...I mean now that I'm on birth control I don't get cramps as often but they're just as painful, to the point where I sometimes think that something is actually wrong with me and death is imminent. Exactly. It would've made people a LOT more sympathetic. A lot of people (boys) assume that periods make you irrational. Constantly being in pain should be considered and women should be given more respect and space and be able to talk about their period in front of boys without being called gross. I mean they mentioned how they could talk about their periods experiment but girls can't at all and we deal with it monthly for an entire week.

They had 5% of an actual period. If it were just blood? No sweat. They had no cramps, bloating, period induced diarrhea, back pain, hormonal uptick, boat, anemia, or headache. They always had a pad. They weren't shamed and they didn't have to pretend it wasn't happening. They had empathy the ENTIRE TIME.

Seriously. The initial stages of the birth simulator mimic the cramps some women get during their period. This experiment dealt with the messiness or practical stuff but I'd love to see them have cramps, bloating, headaches, and other hormonal goodies for three days (but that'd probably be inhumane...) He was there discussing PETAs stupid ad campaign earlier in the episode that says apparently women who eat a lot of chicken produce males born with small penises. And insinuating (wrongly) that if they themselves eat a lot of chicken then they must have small dicks. It wasnt racist at all. Just fucking stupidity. :)

Blood, cramps, back ache, bloating, ovulating, mood swings. It's much more than just blood. The pain and insanity are the worst part, but some side effects from a period can be avoided. If you eat healthier foods and take vitamins, it can help you feel mentally better and if you take ibuprofen, it will help with the physical pain. Of course, I'm not a doctor and I'm not telling anyone what to do. This is just from experience.

Hans Bjorgman Over the counter pain killers don't work for all women plus there maybe other medical reasons why you aren't allowed to take them. I had a discussion about this on another forum and one man simply couldn't understand it when I pointed out doctors cannot always help.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that this was a video on how to instantly make your guests feel uncomfortable by openly talking about their 'private parts' on television. It might just be me, but last I checked it's not exactly appropriate to mention someone's personal, private areas on television, let alone continuously make jokes about i, especially ones that they are clearly uncomfortable with. Would the hosts have asked a woman why she was covering her private parts if it had been a "women do a 'getting kicked in the balls' simulation", implying that they learned how to be sympathetic to the situation simply because of the way they were sitting? I very much doubt it. Overall, their behaviour was unprofessional and inappropriate and I feel sorry for those Buzzfeed representatives. Like seriously, if "The Doctors" wants to maintain a thread of credibility, it wouldn't hurt to be professional and make your guests feel comfortable. It's honestly not that hard. Like, it's simple decency and respect. Just saying.

What about the painful cramps, or headaches, or nausea, change in poop, cramps, change in appetite or lack their of, mood swing, irritation of being around people. This list is only half... Someone could have just punched them in the stomach every five mins for six hours straight. Then shined a bright light in their eye's and made them wear headphones with music turned all the way up to simulate a migraine. Muhaaaa, if men had to deal with the full effects just once in their life.....

I had huge clots fly across a bathroom floors. Then to have to clean it up especially in a public bathroom wasn't fun. You don't want to leave a streak of blood across a floor for the next person walking in to see this.

PETA did a piece before they interviewed the buzzfeed period boys about how apparently, if women eat a lot.of chicken while pregnant they will give birth to males with small penises. I left a more detailed comment here somewhere if you still dont get it. :)

I like that people are starting to be better about women on their period. I mean, it's not like we ask for it, I guess I just wish I saw more guys at my school act more sympathetic to their gf's when they're on their period. All it is, is blood. Normal bodily function. I don't get why people think it's like the devils blood or something. Yeah, it's disgusting. Not like we ask for it. Get over it

Everyones is different, for girls in my family it often comes with cramps, bloating, zits and the horrible mood swings. DUN DUN DUN. But yeah guys at my school talk crap about it and I wish they were more sympathetic. But I think it's not 'just blood' it comes with a lot of crappy side effects, that nobody wants. Every-girl has a right to complain, at least I think so.

Guys making fun of periods generally stops when they're adults... Heck a good chunk of people even have sex on their period, with those sponges or whatnot... People naturally tend to make fun of things that are new/foreign to them, and periods are this new/weird thing when they're teenyboppers... Once they've been in a relationship a few yrs they tend to realise its normalcy more :-) At least the actual blood side of it anyway. Not everyone gets the cramps/mood swings etc, so that side really depends more on the person.

nene34_34 Diarrhea is very common for many people in their periods. It usually happens if they have cramps however, because your bowels are constantly being irritated.

The pain is the worst thing about it the blood isn't even that big a deal it's just messy most of the time, that twisting pain in your insides that feels like someone's stabbing you with a hot blade and they're turning it around inside your stomach, the hot flashes that come with it as well and that dull back ache that won't go away, not being able to get comfortable in bed or get a decent nights sleep. I used to get diarrhoea with my periods when I was a teenager, headaches I'd feel like I was gonna pass out it angers me that men think women over react my periods have nearly ruined my life on a quite a few occasions and for some women it does ruin their lives completely it's not just mild cramps and bloody knickers it's the psychology behind the feeling that your body is torturing you, also what a lot of people don't realise is that periods are not just "cramps" it's your body depriving oxygen to the tissues in the endometrium and makes it bleed.

I appreciate the guy that pointed out that he kept talking about his period and trying to make light of it or just complain and vent and that not all women can talk that freely about it. Sure, us women find a time and a place to express our frustration or talk about these things, but definitely, especially while in school or in the workplace, it often felt like an embarrassing secret to admit you're experiencing pain or discomfort or mood swings because there would often be this worry that others might think you're being gross or dramatic, or they might respond unkindly. I definitely felt like he was able to joke and tell his boss every few mins that he had to go check his pad BECAUSE he is a man who volunteered for an experiment, so it was more like a funny spectacle for him. As a woman, if I told my boss like 10 times in a day about the period I was experiencing, I would definitely not be helping my situation. If anything, my boss would probably think I was being whiny or inappropriate, or they would just be like "stop talking about it, you're making everyone uncomfortable"
