Damn you people must be tone deft because there is no way this version is going to be better than hope Sandoval's version of the song which is the original because in this song you can hear that this girl is just dragging the song along and she's playing the guitar as if she's not even certain or confident it's just ambling along and quite frankly there's no way this version is going to be better than the original sorry.😮

Original Mazzy Star fan here who saw Hope Sandoval sing this great song live in the mid 1990's. Your cover is the best effort I have seen of this immortal song. You capture the wistfulness and emotion of the original. Bravo !
@@themalenka You were far to young to see Mazzy Star. Certainly in the mid 1990's. I actually got to speak briefly to Hope S. I also spoke to David Roback (rip) . His passing a couple of years ago was very very sad. Good luck with your future musical career. I have been checking out your original material and it sounds good to me !

the haunting easy going voice and style of Hope Sandoval is difficult to cover, you did a really good job at singing this song! Also I love the choice of doing it outside in nature. It all feels sooo natural...
Thank you, so glad you liked it! I made a few recordings in nature when I was visiting my family in the mountains - filming outside helps me relax and really get into the song. I also have a Norah Jones cover filmed in the forest :)
Beautiful rendition. I enjoyed the spacious vibe that you so skillfully teased out of this lovely song, You then sculpt that space with just the right amounts of vibrato and intonation to give it a distinctly elegant feel
I’ve always loved Mazzy Star so as such I’ve always also been very critical of artists covering their songs however......... Malenka in my opinion has done a very wonderful rendition of this song. Also the name “Malenka”, I believe it’s Eastern European, maybe Russian in origin? Supper cool name, love it.

Gorgeous Also, this looks a lot like upstate ny. I drove from Hancock to Rhode Island a couple years back, and this kind of scenery was all there throughout. These log and wire fences with animals grazing on the hillsides. Very memorable trip
